germanny wrote:Hey Diarmuid, this is unbelievable! And you´ve done very much and good (what is seen so far) since the beginning.
You do what i tried to do few times - to build up a dm like game with outer world to explore.
Ended because of different goals of the involved members. But the concept was great!
Wish you a hard will and dont give up! But alone.. you will need help in content creation at a point.
Thank you Germanny, coming from you compliments are really appreciated, I have a lot of admiration for your work!
I have lots of will, don't worry. I've started many projects in my life, and unfortunately not always finished them. This time I kind of want to prove to myself that I can lead it until the end, and as Thomson said, I'm already past a point where I see results so it's encouraging to continue. All the positive comments I'm getting help morale too..
As for help, yes maybe, we'll see. As of now, I don't have any budget to hire help, and I don't feel that comfortable asking for help for free for a project I mean to commercialize... so I'm doing the best I can!

Maybe in a couple months you could set up a kickstarter to hire a guy or two, or just help pay your living expenses so you can dedicate more time to it. Arakion was a similar style (in some ways) and had a successful kickstarter.

I'll definitely do a fundraising campaign, be it only to cover liscensing costs for the engine and some third-party tools, + marketing costs. I'm waiting to get the project in a more advanced state, as I have no previous credentials in the game industry, so I need to show something well advanced in developpment if I excpect people to put their trust in it.

Hi guys, here's a new update:
http://www.darkdale.net/2013/07/the-world-of-darkdale/. I'm announcing multi-lingual support (the game will be developed in English and French) and providing some first background info on the game world.
Enjoy!

That is looking cooler and cooler, love the lore and background! I wish Grimrock had more of that sort of thing (I'm sure they'll put a lot more in Grimrock 2), so it's nice to see you're on that road.

Moved to General Discussions, since this is not Grimrock related.
