I haven't seen skill (maybe it is some spell?) responsible for making potions but I think I've read that potions are confirmed. So maybe they could be made by everyone as long as you know and have correct ingredients.

I believe that unlike in Dungeon Master, potions in LOG are skill-based. Think "herbalism."

I've just noticed one thing - you can not probably add more than 6 points (from available 10) to single attribute during character generation - it was a case on two videos.
So probably, for example, if you want to add and have 17+ points in any attribute you shouldn't select Human race at start as Human is 10/10/10/10 so any attribute is basically maxed at 16.
That said, after spending all available points you can still increase selected attribute further using available skills and traits. So even Human can have 18 in Strength if you add 6 points to initial 10 and then select Athletic as one of two traits which gives you another 2 points.

As I said I haven't noticed any single reference to potions on character generation screen, so I am not sure how to make them.

I've found a herb on video - there is no "skill needed" or something similar mentioned in its description. If you want to read full description here it is below.
Tar Bead(1)
Weight: 0.1kg each
Shift-LMB/RMB to handle single item
A rare herb that grows in swamps and other moist areas. It is known for its potent healing properties.

Well, all information is available just at start of the game and for me it should be also in manual so it will not be big spoiler to read it especially if you are going to plan your trip before it starts to not waste too much time at character generator later. But I understand your concerns.

Anyone know if we get stat points when we level up or do we just get skill points?
I'm also curious if there is a hard/soft cap for any particular stat... but I don't think we'll know that until well into release.

Yes I understand but for me, I want it all to be a surprise when I start
my husband has a habit of spoiling everything for me :p and this will basically be my first blind game
I am very excited.
