I don't even like Mass Effect, and have never even played the 3rd one. I was using it as an example of how fan input changed the game for the better.

And don't get started on "don't like the old school" bullshit you closed minded jerks have been spitting around here.
Old school was the reason I bought the fucking game and I enjoyed it immensely.

I suggest you get off the internet, Grow Up a bit. Maybe then, when you are good and ready, we can have a civilized conversation.

I really don't care..Like I said if you don't like the game the way it is..Find a game you do like. Stop bombarding the developers with stupid ideas to change it into a modern game. There are precious few games like lhis that come out.

lol..Games did not corrupt themselves ..unless some full was stupid enough to break the write protect tab, and there was a bug in them. There is very little difference between memory and magnetic media than when the first desktops started coming out in the 1980s. It has just gotten smaller and more dense. Reliability has remained about he same. I owned an 8086 AT&T computer that was a clone of the very first IBM computers. It had an 180K disk drive..No hard drive. I also had an Atari 520ST, also with no HD..and if you want to go further back I had an Tandy 800 with but 4K of memory.
Harddrive space is not memory.

I agree with your posts though, people need to sotp making stupid suggestions. Logical ones are fine, but some of the stuff people ask for is idiotic.

I didn't call it memory anywhere. I made the distinction between the two very early in my post...THe Tandy computer had not disk drive or HD..If that is what is making you think I was associating the Tandys memory amount with earlier descriptions that included disk draive and HD descriptions.

ANd yes I do agree that people need to stop with all these suggestions. The forum is full of them, like the developers do not kno what they are doing.

Everybody was saying how great the game is. now its like nobody is satisfied with it.

Yeah, I know, we were all there -- this is a site for fans of a DM clone. But the thing is, the world I live in, floppies sometimes failed. Maybe not very often, but it happened, and since DM was copy protected, you couldn't just make a copy and use that without a lot of extra effort.

So if we're gonna go for old school, definitely we should have really long save and load times. Because otherwise we are depriving ourselves of that true old-school experience.

Those two do go hand in hand you know. If the game was crap then there would be no interest at all. You know what's given me an unsatisfied desire to play DM every couple of years, and see new sights and better things over time? How good DM was.

In any case, I think you're making two mistakes. The first is that people are upset or displeased. That is not the case, even the spiders guy came back and said he was only venting. The second is that you're the defender of the game. You're not. All it looks like you're doing is telling people what their opinions should be.

Yea they did fail..But it was not because they corrupted themselves. It was because they where a magnetic surface, and over time they grew weaker. I imagine 90-95% of games that where on floppies 20 years ago don't work anymore.

The fact that technology has improved and hardware has gotten better, is always a good thing. That really does not have anything to do with playing the game. Just because people want to play an old school game..Does not mean they want to do it in CGA , on a circa 1982 IBM computer.

This is a definite contender for my favorite game in the last twenty years.

That doesn't mean it couldn't be better... And given the response from the devs, both to bug fix requests and feature enhancements, I think it will be.

Can you read? Did I not write that "I enjoyed the game immensely"?

You need to put more faith in the developers. They know what they want, they aren't going to listen to suggestions that would ruin the game.
So neither you nor ragomer need to step in attack those who make ridiculous suggestions.

Oh and in case you didn't know I have not been, "Bombarding the developers with stupid ideas". I haven't suggested shit.

And another thing LoG already is a modern Game.
