Well there is a dagger, and I believe there's a staff (of Dispel).

I agree this ennemy would feel a lot more fair if you could at least walk through it. In the current design, you're pretty much forced to get stuck by one in that dead end in the house of needles if you don't know where he'll spawn... I was lucky to quickly understand I could kill him with dispel...

Being able to walk through it while taking damage would be a really good solution. And I agree they look really weird for air elementals and read as earth monsters.

Well, at least now I know you can knock him back with the maul. I hadn't known that before. These guys are the #1 reason to have a water mage mid-game, though. You can't get the ethereal dagger until awhile later iirc.

Yes a golden key can get you the Acolyte's Staff which cases disple

Yep, just came from the archives/lexiconary to get the password stuff for the cemetery. Came back through forgotten river and flying thunder lizards and these bastards showed up. I had a mage with enough skill to use dispel thankfully but good god what were the designers thinking. As multiple other people have said, there needs to be a patch to let us walk through these guys or something. Don't want to sound like a whiny bitch but this mob is super unfair.

I'm pretty sure they don't show up unless you do have dispel or the dagger.

Wrong, they can show up very early in the game. I was near the end of the game before I got the dagger because I went to the Cementary last, but they showed up right near the beginning of the game for me.
