What are everyone's thoughts on starting a feature request for the new engine?
Just a more organized list.
We could nab things out of the Editor Feature Request thread, while discussing our visions of what this next release will be.
PRO: We create a concise list of things the community would like to see in the game/editor for Almost Human to read and take from as they wish.
CON: We are more or less inviting ourselves to be considered part of the dev team. (Impolite)

The one feature That I would like is the ability to allow Wall alcoves to be at floor level.
One of the best features of Chaos Strikes Back ( Dungeon Master expansion) was the first time I clicked on a wall grate at floor level and found food.
More Character classes would also be a nice feature especially Samurai, Ninja, and Priest.

Did you ever play The Dark Spire? It's a ds game so not old but is a very old fashioned dungeon crawl.
samurai, ninja, lord, druid, etc. Awesome game. Plot is really bizarre at the end though.
Also so as not to hijack the thread with my off-topicness.
I must say my first response to the news of the new codebase was panic. oh-my-god-were-gonna-be-archaic panic.
I am now entering the acceptance phase.

For me most important are this few things:
- Please please more visible Text than 4-5 lines with hudprint. (or better a window wich the player can close after reading the message)
- And please an option to display images/pics on the screen and best with an option like the player must click or press a button to continue (after showing the Picture), just like the Intro-Screen but ingame (for better storytelling)
- More basic Monstertypes like Animals, Humanoids and please some sort of NPC-Chars who are not hostile (for better story/quest modding and Merchandise etc.)
- Better tools for import/export Monsters/Animations/Objects. The better the support for this, the more content by the community will be created. At the moment the category "Monsters" in G-Nexus is nearly empty.
- more than only one static position of the Portraits/Movement Arrows (i.e at Top or Buttom of the screen centered)
of course there are more things but these are for me the most importants at the moment
Edit: Oh, there is one more thing of course. I dont know if the wonderful Forest-Tileset of Skuggavein will work with the new Engine/Editor, but if not, please one outdoor-tileset with the new Editor.

I still think camera controls for scripting would be amazing. It'd enable so much.

So should we make a new thread listing our feature requests or no?
I think I might prefer a dev's opinion on this though.

Just do it? Nothing's obligating them to comply with our suggestions. At worst they waste a few minutes reading the thread. Then if they think our suggestions suck or that they don't have time to spare, they can choose not to heed any of it.

Well then the next topic of discussion, is which board should it belong in?
General Game Discussion, or Modding?

We can now do these with GUI hook scripting
