I took at stab at skinning the chest.
here is the result.

you can grap the model and textures here.

http://www.zorglubb.net/grimrock/dropzone/chest.rar

The texture is a combination of the round_lock, metal_door and wood_block textures found in the original Grimrock.
If I can, I try to use the original assets as much as I can, it gives the item I'm creating more of a "I belong here" feeling to it.

Nice work skugg! That is exactly how I wanted it to look, even with the keyhole in the box in front. Now that it's textured, would you mind if I released it on the Nexus with props to everyone who helped and you as the final texturer?

darn !!! there was an error in this model :o
I was not using the current version of GMT and the tangents and bitangents have calculation errors, and messed up the normal map.

I have updated the model file and and recreated the normal map. Same link as before http://www.zorglubb.net/grimrock/dropzone/chest.rar
The wood has bumps applied now and light refracst better accross the model.
