Of course that's an option. All you have to do is calibrate your profile to get the screen cords matched.
I know your trying to help but I think you really do not understand how autohotkey works.

AutoHotkey doesn't use window cords, it used global cords for controlling mouse moment. So if like many people play this game in windows mode while they chat online, watch tv-shows or a host of other things people do then the screen position of the zones you wish to target are not in the same spot unless you have the window in the exact same position each time.
Well if you want to watch a tv-show + chat with someone + dunnowhat while you're party is eaten alive in LoG that's your choice. But don't blame it on the game missing hotkeys.

There are games simply made for mouse play and dungeon crawlers belong to them. Pretty much any game where you have to control more than 1 character at once falls into that categorie. Try any other RPG where you control a whole party of 4, 6 or 8 characters. Gamepads simply fail there.

Again you are completely wrong... you can play Bauders Gate, Icewind dale Diable 2/3 etc etc with gamepad easy... as while they have mosue clicable zones, they also have hotkeys for those zone.

Dunno about BD/ID; i never cared about them.

In D2/D3 you got 1 character, a mouse clickable zone which is the entire screen and hotkeys for menu's alone.

In LoG you got 4 characters, a mouse clickable zone which is the entire screen and hotkeys for menu's alone.

The difference is: while clicking on something in D2/D3 it was obvious that your character had to do everything like attack/pickup/operate stuff. Running a multi-character party in a realtime game like LoG, EotB or DM this is not obvious. Pickup/drop/throw/operate stuff in the dungeon is always done by the first character or a choosen leader. Fighting has to be done individualy.

EDIT
Regarding AutoHotKey, windows and coordinates: perhaps you should check out LordYig's work at viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2865
His aim was to make casting spells easier but with some work it could be expanded to do a lot more then that.

Again, my main motivation is to remove the penalty because of a disability. Yeah, not too many gamers with that issue I guess. Not watching TV or chatting or otherwise directing my attention away from the game. It's a manual dexterity issue.

The main problem is that when you right-click on the weapon, it is very easy for someone like me to accidentally drag it a bit, which means you have to put it back before fighting again. Putting it back can't be done with a right-click, so you have to actively switch to a left-click, in the correct place, and then go back to a right-click.

A hotkey would make it a lot easier. A way to avoid abuse of the hotkey could be to force the user to wait until the weapon is highlighted. Now after I click all four weapons, I usually keep right-clicking on the weapon I expect to be active first. With hotkeys within the game, I'm sure they could make sure more than one attack hotkey (spell or weapon) could not be registered at the same time.

Excuse me but are we playing the same game?

I tried as hard as i could but i'm not able to drag a weapon with a right-click.
If i want to drag a weapon off a char's hand i have to left-click and drag.
