I thought they were invincible. At the first encounter with them I just quickly found the switch and teleported. Once another one was in my way I searched for a solution to this and found out about their shields taking damage.

On a somewhat related note... I found their ice spell to be significantly faster than the others.

Same here. The Ice Shards spell is the only one I somehow can't dodge.

Same here, thought they were immortal until the very last room of the game!
