Everyone feels differently, I personally enjoyed the spell casting system. Casting in combat for me was hectic but fun.

I've just finished game for a second time - this time featuring Mage Tank.
Traits: Evasive and Natural Armour.
He ends up with:
Skills
Staff Defence: 42
Ice Magic: 16
Spellcraft: 8
Stats
Strength: 8
Dexterity: 16
Vitality: 12
Willpower: 20
As always, every my Mage is first and foremost a freezer and a light-maker. That's why I couldn't levelled up Staff Defence up to 50, but at 42 I've gained all this skill has to offer but this last bonus. Note that I wasn't able to level him up to 14th level so he ended up at 13th. He has read all three Tomes of Wisdom though.
Anyway his Health is pretty low (at least comparing to your Mages), but I haven't took Healthy as a Trait and I even didn't maxed out his Vitality. I should have definitely moved some points from Dexterity to Vitality.
Enchanting arrows may be fun for a while but because you have to pick them manually after every fight I've gave up pretty fast. I'm too lazy for such inconvenience, and all this searching amongst legionary shields was a real pain. Extra damage isn't worth it really.
Thanks for interesting character concept King Semos.

Nicely done man.
Yeah, I gave all 3 tome of infinite wisdoms to my mage tanks as well. I also agree with the whole arrow enchanting lol.
I'm glad to see someone tried it out.

He seemed to get off to a slow start, but now with some proper outfitting and skills invested, he's hitting hard and taking punishment like a champ. I'm very happy that I tried this out. I really like the idea of an armored shaman or druid-type guy on the front line.
Very nice. I like how you went Earth magic for Vitality. Every bit counts. Cool portraits for both of you btw.

Pimpskinny did you send Rainbird in solo or does he have a party to back him up?

Oh yea, Rainbird is in a full party. Minotaur Macer, Human Archer, and Human Pyromaniac. After I finish my first play-through I might try a solo or duo run.
