There's a practical 'thing' I miss that would have eased up jumping from Level to Level very much:
In Dungeon Master, u could use the Skeleton Keys to open a huge Stairway that allowed to enter LVL 6 - 12 very easily without going the whole, long ways throught the dungeons to reach stairs.
Could this be implemented in a patch? Or are the matrices already fully occupied and not leaving place for this?
Best regards,
Pumpel
That would be great. But I think it shouldn't unlock until like level 11 or 12. So we can go back and cover all the secrets we missed before the end.

Perhaps in a new dungeon of your own creation, but I highly doubt it'd be possible with the existing dungeon. Where would you put them? The maps seem limited to 32x32 and most spaces are occupied on one floor or another, and the fact that not all floors are fully connected with themselves makes it hardly useful. Half the time you'd be connecting to pits from the floor above and not the main floor area.
Since stairs are a load screen basically there is no reason why stairs would have to line up other then to make them seem reasonable. So it would be vary possible to do this.
But on a side it could be made even easier. use some of the space on level 11 to make a room with teleporters behind locked gates. Then just have the key for each gate at the stairs down for each level.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue. My end game stats LoG 1st play through
Great ideas and even coders offering solutions, thx!
Of course, the motivation behind is not to 'easy' down the game but to just offer some comfortability. Running throught the same halls and tunnels 4, 5, .. 9, yet 10 times to get to an outer post is at some point tiredsome. I've moved so far 36'000 tiles and did not finish the LVLs 11, 12 and 13 completely.
The wider the halls on a level, the less necessary such connectors coz the way can be shortened.
Eye solved this pretty cleverly with the "stone portals"... you had a central level 7 stone portal room that had access to as early as level 4 to as late as level 11. However it didn't "gimp" the game as the stone items you needed to find were usually after the point you discovered the portal... there is an exception where you can however travel to level 9 without even having gone through 7/8... but the connection isn't that easy to find if you don't know about it...
