Yes, you must activate the puzzle with the button then:
SpoilerShow
1.run to the north wall, pull the eastern most lever,
2.run to the southern most lever in the room, pull that,
3.run back up to the northern wall, pulling the western most lever,
4.run to the lever in the middle of the room, pull that
5. finally, run back to the northern wall, pull the middle lever.

This must be done very quickly if you are to not have a trap door open up beneath you (dont bother turning around too much, this wastes time)

Good that you have visited The Underworld, cubes will spawn periodically - for the most part you must try to evade them, but to kill them -

you must trick 2 cubes into hitting each other which will destroy one of both of them
This section is suppose to be tricky and is designed to get people lost! :D
However, to complete this area...

you can find the exit in the southern part of the maze (secret button opens up some walls and lots of monsters)
But if you want to do all the things... like stop the cubes being created and collect all the Fallen equipment

There are buttons around the central part of the maze, near where the cubes are being created, each button will open a big door nearby - buttons will open the closest door. Press the buttons and run through the doors... this will allow access to the 4 corner areas of the level...

What do you suggest? I am considering lighting up the order of the levers briefly... or maybe a riddle on a note?

I came across the secret while I was trying out the levers but once I had the combination I didn't go back for it.I can't Wisp Shift as I have no one who uses Air Magic.You could mark levers etc with numbers,letters or colours as long as there is some sort of note to give a hint.

Im following the thread even if I hv no time to play right now. Nevertheless, I agree with you about balancing the difficulty because, even if the people that are still playing LOG are highly addicted, the fun is to find by yourself and not going through a 20 pages thread.

But you are the boss :)

Hey Akroma,

mmmh, I think the Underworld is too difficult. At least for me. I'm dieing all the time especially from cubes and from rolling stones. It's the first area I don't find enjoyable. Okay maybe it should not be enjoyable as it's the Underworld, but have you yourself played through this and managed to do everything? It's just so hard.

That's great that you are still following :)
I figured the difficulty would need some slight adjusting, so very important that I have a gauge of this from other players
I expected the game to be challenging for people who have played through the original game on the hard difficulty.
Whenever I play through Labyrinth of Lies, I set difficulty to hardest - hoping to get a good reading from that...
The problem is of course, this is the only game I have played for the last 2 years now and obviously know my mod back to front..
So really I have probably still set the level of challenge too hard
Feedback here is therefore very very important :D

Yes, The Underworld is the most difficult level in the game and yes, I have played through a number of times
This level is not compulsory to do - but completing it (and all the things) will:
SpoilerShow
Give you access to the Liche Lord fights on the way back up the labyrinth AND stop cubes from being spawned in the last battle (end game)
There is also a lot of other treasures to find there.
My suggestions for completing this level are:
SpoilerShow
Be fast - dont sleep... the longer you spend here so more cubes will spawn.
Use cubes to destroy other cubes.
In the boulder area - use boulders to kill other monsters
Know where the turn squares are.
This probably seems a bit obvious though, thank you for the feedback on the difficulty.
There are a number of things I can change about the level... but what would you think of changing??

I think that the problem with puzzles is getting the balance right.4 levers will give you 24 combinations which is doable but 6 levers gives you 720 combinations which is a few too many without some sort of clue.

Hmm, it's really hard for me to say. What annoys me the most is, that my screen keeps shaking. I think this is due to the boulders and I haven't found a way to stop that. The theme of this level is dark and secrets are not so easy to see because of the dark wallset - especially with the screen shaking. Then there are so many insta-death possibilities - did I mention that the screen is shaking all the time? 8-)

Usually I'm the type of person who likes to explore and do that thoroughly. This is also punished because more and more cubes are created during this time. Haha, I think I'm whiney about this stuff, this just annoys me so much, can't help it. :mrgreen:

I will teleport myself out of the underworld and back to the great staircase I think. If there is a newer version than 1.8.4, could you send it to me please? I would like to start over and skill differently.

Hey JimBob,
yes those figures are scary... with regards to the puzzle I think you are refering to... the pits closing and opening should be the hint to which levers to pull... but still I should probably give more hints there.
I have changed a number of other lever pulling puzzles to cut down the permutations, but pls if yopu come across any more you consider unfair then let me know :D

Yes, it was to do with the way you exited but I have fixed that up now... also I have extended the timing with which the cubes are spawned... hopefully that will make the level a bit more friendly (or less hateful!)
I have also toned down the screen shaking effect when the cubes are spawned.
I can indeed send you a new version with a number of new fixes, will sort that out today for you :D

(EDIT) boulders also removed from underworld... see how that goes :D
