ok, finally I'm a "winner". Though it took me 3 reloads to take sling and stones into the hand, and another 20 to hit D. a few times w/o dying :roll:

I was distracted immediately after he was 'dead', and could not read what he was saying... then the final scene explained everyone were slain... what happened pls give me a spoiler))

I really wish to replay the mod, but with the final battle a bit more friendly and a standard Grimrock poison effect

Q: did you save/load right after the fight?

In early versions of the mod (up to 1.3 i think) i experienced similar crashes when quicksaving right after dealing the killing blow and then loading the quicksave to replay the scene that follows. The only way i found to prevent this was not to save after the fight; to replay the scene that followed i had to load a hopefully not corrupted mid-fight savegame and finish it again.

In version 1.5 and up this should not happen. If it does InspiredHate would surely like to know which version of the mod you are playing.

I saved right before the fight, but not after. I'm playing version 1.8.

Thank you for your input Hustin I've found out what was the problem, fixing it right now, Ill get this fix out with an optimization fix for the ogre boss in the upcomming days.

1.9 ppl! Fixes:

Bugs: Fixed a crash involving the final boss displacement behavior.
Added a script to optimize one of the boss battle (fps wize).

Misc: Added an invisible blocker where you could go trough a piece of the scenery.

currently replaying on easy, and has two questions:

1. Completed the Mines, the Abode, and the main part of level 2. Has found 14 secrets, missed something?

2. on level 2, the 'mirrored' room with two green 'peridot' stones. Later I returned here and found a gate to a second part of it opened. Looks like a secret has to be here (otherwise whats the point of opening the gate?), but all my attempts to find it failed... any hints? For now I've just grabbed both stones and going down the dungeon...

Yep there is a secret and the room is the hint itself.

ok, now ready to find what I missed. Seems there are two secrets left, one with "peridots", and another is on the 1st level, the one you marked on the west. I think it's a suspicious place with a wall missing on the map, but I still have no idea how to open it...

upd done with peridots) mentally I've got the idea how it works long ago, but seems I did smth wrong so the secret was not opened then.

...and just have opened the 1st level secret, damn so easy, I usually do this trick at "interesting" spots, but somehow missed this one
