as marten said - you have to kill all the mummies if you want get them spawned again with the switch. This puzzle could be rlly annoying sometimes and sometimes it could be done even for the first try. good luck

As for version 1a be aware of some bugs -

- do not cross the Watchtower bridge till you are allowed to (late game).
- invest at least one point to Valtharion light magic skill
- The Lake Unerground dungeon level 1 has bugged teleport, avoid this part where teleport is (you do not need go here)

maybe starting the dungeon again is the quickest solution and exactly as you said - you will solve the issues much faster now. Also you should consider play EASY option if you are not fan of combats. Good luck with the evil guy !

using HIS fireballs to destroy the portal i mean you can really use HIS fireballs to destroy the portal. You do not need cast a single spell in whole combat if you do not want to (or you do not have fireballs) ;)

no not the mortal, but the ingredients.. and a lot of stuff i can not sell it... before i start the game all over with version 2a i go check the crypt level...
I think at least mana / healing ingredients / potion are quite good. And altough in later game Valtharion could cast really powerfull healing, you should have some potions for hard fights preapred

this is secret area which could be reached only if you fulfill something in the area with mummies. No secret buttons.

I passed the puzzle with a bit of patience thanks ;)

its good thad i started over again with version 2a (and i hope there are no newer versions nessecary)
i had crossed thad bridge indeed.. i was killed quick in the snow level there behind by heavy icebirds.. and in the other level i was used as barbequemeat by the fire rock giants..

i hope that you solve the grasmower puzzle also there.. a very funny but hard puzzle.. you must do,nt forgot the corners and ended by the closed metal solid door..

Hey ! Someone can tell me the position of the all horseshoes for the thieves guild ? I cant find the last one :(
