You just found a bug, I guess I'll have to make another version. :)
To not make you have to start the game again, here's a workaround:
Here is described how to activate the console:

(try it first with the standard key in the config-file before changing the number value)
Open it with the ^ key (after restarting the game after the above changes).
Then type in:
air_elemental_2.monster:die()
air_elemental_3.monster:die()
That will kill both elementals.
The first and the fourth refer to the house of rules.

Stuck
How do I get out of the priest chambers after I completed all the trials? Been in all 4 areas and they seem to lead nowhere. The only place I haven't been able to get past is the spike traps in the training grounds. Seems to teleport you backwards indefinitely when trying to move forward.

There's a hidden lever (mostly through a large secret button or a normal button) in each area.
Pull all four levers to open the way to the inner sanctum.
For the teleporter: There's a button on the wall to deactivate the back teleporting.

O M G ... All was going great until I came to the area where you cannot use light and/or hold a torch...
I open the pullchain door and if I Step into it.... CRASH!!

UPDATE: This has been resolved due to the fact that I started a mission with an oudated version of Grimrock without reading first!

In the northeast of the upper level there's a wall text saying something about high eagle and so on.
It's the way to walk according to the wall text on the pit room (the symbols) so that the pits don't open in the end.

So far I only found two possibilities to make sure monsters don't travel over the whole map and stay in their area (so that you don't fight all monsters at the start of the map and the rest of the map would be empty). Either blocking with shrubs or setting invisible monster blockers.

The bane and meteor shield are not relevant here. They are labeled correctly.
You need:
Serpent Blade, Serpent Staff, Bracers of the Serpent Lords (not Serpent Bracers!), Scepter of the Serpent Lords, Serpent Scope, Serpent Rock
Can someone tell me where to find these:
Bracers of the Serpent Lords and Serpent Rock
I don't remember coming across either one of them

RE: CRASHING stepping through past the light puzzle I updated / patched and it still did it due do the fact I was using an outdated verison of Grimrock.
Thank-you @ODGA for the help getting past the light puzzle with my party!!

After you have pulled the lever in the upper level (in the west at the medusa fight) three doors open in the upper level with pits behind every door.
Top right, bottom left and mid left.
@TheNiagaraGuy
It should work directly after the update to .18 (please check in the menu screen).
Unfortunately there's nothing I can do as this is a basic game function.

I got .17 version and had no crash there, so it is not .18 need. Try use party:setPosition command in console to pass this moment, i do not know right coordinate and not shure if this will not make important variable not trigger, need OGDA help.
