Thx, was a lot work. It was a project that i begun in the mid 90s with another software called monzoom 3D. Never finished, i ran into hardware probs then and stopped, it was too big for the hardware..
A few facts:
The Tiger was a legendary german tank from world war 2. Statistics say that 5-10 enemy tanks are lost before one tiger was destroyed. He was not invulnerable and was too heavy, slow and use a lot gas. But its thick hardened steel armor and a very precise optic beside his 8.8cm gun was it. One was able to shoot down tanks at 2 Kilometers and few times some do it at 3 Km! In fact the crews were perfect trained and disciplined.
Don´t do me wrong, i am truly a pacifist and hate war! But this war has happened and was worst for my country. My grandpa died in march 1945, two months before all ended. His remains are missing near Königsberg (now it is russian and named Kaliningrad). This happened as a group of the last tigers there try to stop the russian advance so the german civilians can escape into save territory (if not they are very often plundered, murdered and raped). They sucessed, but only a few days. Massive russian counterattacks and airstrikes do the rest. German luftwaffe was in fact mostly destroyed there.
Well - i think this is the point why i model a tiger tank, and i want to make a detailed still from these days at Königsberg as i have it in my brain + research infos.
2010 i decide to step forward and learn blender, the new gui let me think i can do it^^
So old project tiger renewed and set up in blender to get into it. I´ve learned to use all modeling tools and wrote down all steps i have done.
Beginning with blender was not easy at the first steps, but then as i learned to use the gui (its much better to use keyboard commands in symbiosis) it goes quick up!
Now i try lowpoly sculpt modeling, baking and of course make a perfect rigging for animation^^
What i do here is again an attempt to get more skilled in that.
@Asteroth:
I´m not high skilled with blender, it is fun to get better and better. In fact its a time consuming task.
I think of wallasaurus - he is a skilled 3d-modeler and a good painter, too!
