Hey THOM,
sorry for the late reply! Not a great deal of progress in this department unfortunately.
One of the guys is just finishing up Uni this semester and the other has been waylayed by house moving and new job opportunity.
I am at the point now where I am thinking up work arounds for the monsters I am after - re-skins and re-brains.
Or I may just have a go at it myself - but that wouldnt be for a while yet as I am still slugging away at Race/Class/Skills/Traits/Items and Spell system for the next mod

So nothing to report here really, sorry to say :?

Very keen to see what youre up to

A fair few of the spells I am working on manipulate monster brains and behaviour
...so I keep getting distracted working on custom brain stuff! haha :lol: :twisted:
There is just so much cool stuff we can do now!!

Hey All,
so Ive had very mixed success with employing the services on non-community people to help with this custom monster work.
My friend Matt unfortunately has too many other projects to work on so he has pulled out of this project
The good news is he did the preliminary work for a "Shadow Beast" monster and has left us with the model, freely, to do with as we please!

If anyone is interested in picking up the remaining modelling/animating work for this project, pls contact PM me and I will show you the files we have to work with.
I am happy to do the AI scripting - just dont have the skills for modelling/animating just yet...

This is the description for the Shadow Beast

“Black Shadow Horror Beast”
This (animal/horror) monster can be found lurking through abandoned mines and ancient crypts. Very rare and usually only found in isolation or living amongst horrifying insects and creepy crawlies. It is not considered part of The Watcher’s Army. Very rarely, The Watchers take one of these beasts as a pet for experiments or protection... and The Watcher’s have learned many dark things from such occasions, however, it usually ends badly as these beasts are somewhat intelligent and almost impossible to contain safely. It looks very similar to a Balrog (Lord of the Rings) (without the fire or weapons) crossed with a darker version of ‘Beast’ (Xmen). This monster is cloaked in darkness and shadow... sometimes only its eyes being visible from a distance. It can launch itself and charge at the party from the cover of shadows (hopefully scaring the shit out of the player), swiping at its prey with razor sharp claws... If need be, it can cast the darkness spell... dispelling all kinds of light sources – using this as a means of stealth and or escape. Also, while covered in darkness, it can slide through shadows (teleporting itself) and emerge from other shadows nearby. Overall, the player should feel scared, uncomfortable in the dark and preyed upon when facing this monster.
