One problem with the islandmaster-fight is (I still havn't beaten him), that if you hesitate too long, there are so many clones, that it is really a pain in the ass to find out, who the real is.

The fight was underwhelming? First you chase the island master up his Castle Nex to the highest tower and do battle amongst four towers while overlooking the surrounding island? If that is not enough after that fight you enter the lair of the trickster and find that the Island master was still alive and you must battle him again? First battle was like an open field and the second battle was more confined and every bit of skill needed to get through... I believe it was well done. Also one tip, the Island Master's clones are timed... I was able to dodge around anyway and hit the real version of himself most of the time or I would just retreat when needed - forcefield helped a ton in preventing damage and a quick bit of targetted healing and rebuffing. Took me a couple tries but I beat him on Hard and it was well worth it.

Have to say I don't have the faintest idea what the OP was talking about. I thought this fight was great fun and a fine ending to the game. I was really expecting to be disappointed because OP was so adamant about how it ruined the entire game for him but I am really left scratching my head about it - were we playing the same game? Oh well, good job Almost Human =)

One of the best boss battle I've had in a long time, and I'm picky on those.
I don't see what's really unfair or impossible about him either. He caused some damage but I still got him on first attempt. :l

On the rooftop you do not fight the islandmaster but the lindworm...!

i think his shields were the weakest part conceptually. you just have to rely on him 'forgetting' to restore them, which apparently he can do at any moment at no cost

I know its almost like hes "testing" you to a high standard not just trying to outright murder you....what a CRAZY idea

well, yeah, it makes sense story-wise, and i can see how the devs wanted the players to be proactive and attack in that fight instead of holding back and sniping/counter-attacking as usual, but i just hate it when i'm forced to do that

Why not? you just need 1 person to walk up to him and wail on him. He isn't that hard... I don't understand people complaining about him being so hard, Water Elementals were more challanging to fight than he was. Here is the trick to fighting him: You go up to him... And you hit him... .... .... And that's it! Takes less than 30-60 seconds and he's dead. Game over, you win.

If people are having a hard time, you have prepared enough yet.

that's until he pushes you into a spike pit. it doesn't even have to be a pit - he can just push you away, which also stuns you temporarily, leaving you open to the attack of the clones (tm), letting him to restore the shield.. basically, if he pushes you, you are mostly screwed. you can obviously avoid that if you are quick enough, but that fight really emphasizes the twitch side of the combat system, which i find the most annoying thing about the game.
