Fantastic game
Re: Fantastic game
I also like this game very much! Might & Magic X Legacy was quite nice too, but it was lacking support from the developers and from UBISOFT. There are still a lot of bugs and it seems that no one has the intention to fix them. This is obviously not the case with LoG2
My first impression of LoG2 is very positive: There are challenging fights, riddles and lots of secrets, too! And it looks great.

Because optical media is dead and replaced by flash memoryHalluinoid wrote:well why can't we have it on DVD/CD?
why does it have to be download only?
that's why I gave it 9/10

Sad story ... I wrote a lengthy post about that game herePentrago wrote:I also like this game very much! Might & Magic X Legacy was quite nice too, but it was lacking support from the developers and from UBISOFT.

I think Ubi cut off the cash valve... There were some patches, but without having everything fixed (especially concerning the DLC) they just announced that they completely shut down support. Even announcing that is a fist in the face. This game has so much potential but I'm afraid it didn't even sell well enough to get sequels. And I really love the box I got for just 30€.Pentrago wrote:I also like this game very much! Just as a matter of fact, I strongly believe it wouldn't even exist without Grimrock 1 - therefore I hope that at least Grimrock 2 will sell well enough to have some others try to make such great games again
Just as the first game, this is a true gem. The more, the merrier. I'd really love something like EoB again... but well, I don't think there'd be anyone who'll do an AD&D2 game... but to be honest, the more recent D&D rule sets are just silly, too many good things have changed for the worse. And just one thing I also might throw in. Those Dungeon Master 2 merchants and the whole trade system are so awesome. I just love playing around with those coins and gems until they agree to my offer. Want something like that in Grimrock 3.

Nope they were not awesome. Those shops literally broke the game. Most good and all top-end gear was not findable and hidden in well guarded secrets as it's supposed to be for a dungeon crawler, oh no, you had to buy it! Also farming and hauling stuff to sell at the shops for currency was a pain in the rear. Was a massive set-back to gameplay that is ment to live thru exploration.Eldur wrote:Those Dungeon Master 2 merchants and the whole trade system are so awesome.

Well in Grimrock we have Golden keys that're used to open a variety of treasures, that's kind of like a merchant xD .... Technically you can still 'choose what to buy'

Keys are hardly a comparison for a merchant.Luj1 wrote:Well in Grimrock we have Golden keys that're used to open a variety of treasures, that's kind of like a merchant xD .... With enough currency i can empty a shop's inventory - now guess what was possible in DM2 - but when i'm out of keys there is no way to get to that shiny treasure.
Re: Fantastic game
And there isn't enough keys for all the golden locks. And on top of that some of the golden locks are hidden inside other secrets...
Took me 33h to finish the game on normal with 69/77 secrets found. Enjoyed the game greatly and now looking forward to all the custom dungeons to come
