Yeah the final boss disappointed me a bit too. But it's no big deal.

! It's like almost human were in a rush to finish this game and thought " that'll do ". Imagine you're a player and you've fought your way for hours and days on end through the levels only to be faced with a faceless, personalityless final enemy. Does anyone agree with this ?? What kind of final boss did you envision before you got to the end??
I certainly agree with this, I too found the final boss to be rather anti-climatic. Seemed like they ran out of good ideas there.
A proper organic monster would have been so much better. Like a dragon, or a medusa, or a powerful evil wizard. Anything but not a

stupid cube rolling around. What were they thinking? :-(

Why no dragon/medusa/wizard/whatsoever?
During the decades we've seen them thousands of times before as mini or end bosses in RPG's so they would not have been a big or real surprise. LoG gave you something new as requested elsewhere and you're still not happy.

Honestly though, industrialism was a prevalent theme throughout the game.

In my opinion (that you do not have to agree with of course - nevertheless it is a valid opinion, just like other ones) the final boss does not really fit together all that well with the rest of the enemies in this game.
SpoilerShow
All of the levels other than the last do not contain any mechanical enemies.

Maybe think about it like this: If you were playing a Sci-Fi game and were battling robots/ships/turrets etc. all the time, and then on the final level you encounter an Oger, would you think that this is really fitting? Or wouldn't it feel a little out of place maybe. That is what I find to be the case with the rolling cube.
Like I said, you don't have to agree with me. But maybe you could see where I am coming from.

That is because
SpoilerShow
The cube is a mechanical god who the Goromorgs worshiped. The Wardens were also mechanical.

I thought the end dude was fine. I thought it made for a relatively unique story. I reckon it would have been a bit lame to end it with an evil wizard.
SpoilerShow
For awhile I thought the end cube was Toorum...

I really liked the end boss as well. I thought the prison and its occupant fit in well, especially with the foreshadowing provided by dreams with lots of churning gears and some of the artwork in the previous dungeon levels depicting gears and even the cube itself.

I found the crabs to be rather out of place, however.

What is a

mechanical God? What powers it? Where did it come from?
Maybe these questions will be answered in a sequel, if there is going to be one.
Personally, I did not really find closure there, with all of these questions unanswered.

Now that you mention it - there wasn't a whole lot of sea water in this dungeon for crabs to reproduce, was there. ;-)

Well the end boss is supposed to leave you wondering a little bit. We're almost 100% sure the next Almost Human game takes place in the same world. =D
