Lands of Lore was great. Didn't have the CD version though.

Indeed, I remember installing it on I think 11 floppy disks. It was the first game I ever installed that asked me to change disks during installation!

Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny was pretty good, too, although I was only able to complete it with a walkthrough. The City of the Ancients part had some pretty obscure puzzles. Overall, I did like it; Luther was an interesting character. The third game I was not quite as onboard with, though.
