Grimrock

A playable demo would have indeed been nice, but with the amount of times it's gone on sale with Steam ($3.79 or whatever should not require much too much debating with oneself... that is if you were interested in it before it went on sale).

A website that gets me off the fence, one way or another, is this http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/legend-of-grimrock. I suggest giving it a gander, check out the people who rated the game poorly and seeing what they disliked about it, then give the peeps that gave high praise a look... they should answer any question you have about game play and such... and if your concern is a matter of "will it play on my computer" check the minimum required stats. I know near the end where there were shafts of light, my computer chugged a bit, but that was because I was using a really old Graphics card, bought a new one recently and can't wait to replay the game on hard difficulty and see how awesome the game looks then!

So... still no demo?

Myself, I ended up buying the game. While it has some cool elements in my opinion, I'm not sure if I would buy it again. It has some serious shortcomings in my personal opinion, but maybe that is because I expected too much from it, and did not play the old dungeon-crawlers that LoG is based upon.

Anyway, while I don't need a playable demo anymore, there are certainly other potential buyers who do. Now that development of this game has long been finished, surely there is enough time to just shorten the game by, say, 10 levels and release that as a demo? Can't really be all that difficult and time-consuming.
