Re: Pyramid of Xafi
I'm at around my 3.5 hours into the pyramid. Solved some puzzles, now at Level 3 pits, remaining one last door to open there.
I found the puzzles well done, fresh and challenging.
What I didn't like was some (almost) irreversible things you can do. I prefer every puzzle that can be reset until solved. If I drop down a pit and I'm immediately bashed by some ogres, that's fine. I will try again with my last saved game. But if I seem to have progress, or reach an area, and because I do something wrong, or forgot to do something which I cannot do anymore, and I cannot reach back the area (at least using the same route), and when I restore a game I lose other solved puzzles, that's what I don't like. (For example, in Level 4 SE area, I didn't push a button which later prevented me reaching the area. Granted, the area remained reachable from upper level, but this was pretty annoying for me. I have a few more examples like this).
Nevertheless, these are minor. Thanks and congrats Soaponarope.
I will write more if I can (find time and) finish the mod.

Re: Pyramid of Xafi
Thanks for the feedback.
I can understand not being able to return to an area as annoying, but I am confused as to what you mean. You should be able to go back the way you came, plus there are shortcuts which open up later allowing for quicker travel to areas you may need or want to return to. The one case of not being able to return comes early on after the gladiator trial, but this too can be reopened shortly after.
If you could PM me with examples that would be helpful. It is not my intent to have areas unreachable because you did something wrong.

Actually that was a good one.Soaponarope wrote:The one case of not being able to return comes early on after the gladiator trial, but this too can be reopened shortly after.
I will pm other examples.
In the case I mentioned, it is possible to proceed to other side, without pushing the button and when the lever is used the pit will (or may) stay open and so the button will be unreachable. And the 'open pit' being the only way without the button pushed, path from there will be blocked. I can explain more if this is not clear. I know that this does not make any part really inaccessible, just a bit annoying (and unexpected, and may be even unintended).

turn the traps back on. The poison entering the receptors is what flips the pits, so having them fire once more will reclose them if you didnt open the wall.

I know, I meant that it was a 'good' trap, while others were somewhat 'bad'. I liked that one.Soaponarope wrote:After the gladiator trial, it is done to give a trapped feel, in order to get back that way there is a...
Good to know. But you need to come from the other side. If you dropped down a pit, it's again annoying.Soaponarope wrote:The level 4 SE section can be traveled back through even if you didn't press that button....
Thanks.
Re: Pyramid of Xafi
Soap,
I could use a clue for the area with the 5 levers that start 5 different teleporters. I opened both metal doors in there, but I can't close that last pit and make progress to where the small herders are.

Re: Pyramid of Xafi
It is a tricky puzzle.

Think about why you needed to open those metal doors in the first place. After all you could just use the teleporters to get through that area right?
