I hold out for a Mac version, or news thereof, for almost a month after release. Then I succumbed to the greatness that is Legend of Grimrock and bought the Windows version, played it using Wine in a window.
Would be interesting to know how many of the Windows copies of games sold are actually Mac gamers jumping through hoops?
I couldn't get it to work via Wine, have had to resort to Bootcamp, but I don't want to have to reboot just to play it
How did you get it working in Wine?
I used this WInwskin from Porting Team:
http://portingteam.com/files/file/7283- ... -grimrock/
Turns out that the latest versions of Wine can not run LoG, have to use an older version.

Wine 1.5.8 runs LoG perfectly fine for me on Archlinux.

I registered just to say this - I actually preordered this game because it looked really cool, but also because a Mac OS X version was promised. I realize that you guys are only 4 devs, but at least some information would be very much appreciated, especially because it was advertised as for PC and Mac before launch.

Would this also be possible with the Steam version on a Mac?
Otherwise, I'll be holding out for a native version...

Same here +1 for Linux client, would pay that little extra.
Maybe even a pre order, if we reach a value then it goes ahead, if not we get our money back.
Love the look of this game!
Thanks

Or do a Kickstarter for the Mac and/or Linux port? I would easily pledge 250USD just for a just cause (I rather give my money to Almost Human who have proved their worth to me, that pay the same amount for to run Windows legally and optimally).

I can only speak for the GoG.com version on Linux. Just checked WineHQ and it looks like GoG.com version is rated gold while Steam and Almost Human versions are rated silver.

I just updated and checked. I can confirm that on Mac OS X Legen of Grimrock…
- …works with Wine 1.5.8 (latest developer release).
- …do not work with Wine 1.5.4 (dev release I previously tried).
- …do not wotrk with Wine 1.4.1 (latest stable).
- …works with Wine 1.3.32 (release used by Porting Team Wineskin).
I have only tried on Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8 GM, not any earlier OS version.

Steam version (specifically) works. I just bought it last night (I used the porting team wrapper). Crossover does not work though.

Could you (shortly) describe how you did this? AFAIK you do not get an executable file to use with the wrapper with Steam, right?
