will i automatically die on floor 10 too? ;p
If you want really to you can do this sooner ;p
I found a way to play as Toorum without finishing the game or even doing his quest, not even file editing required. Just need to create an empty text file named appropriately and put in the the LoG folder in your documents folder

Why you guys using spoiler tags when the title of the thread already has a spoiler tag lol. Anyway I just completed my Toorum run was pretty easy I did armor up to Light to start then I put everything into Axe until i maxed it then switched back over to armor, near the end I was getting some criticals that were around 250-300.

Any other skills used ?
I was thinking about dropping some points in spellcraft to light (so that I don't have to use torches or the orb) and keep one hand free for bombs. For the rest going with armor up to heavy and dump all the rest into swords.
Given a 14th end level (and 3 books), this would allow for 50 swords, 8 more in armors, 5 in spellcraft and another 8 points to spend wisely somewhere else.

I know, I just thought my spoiler was verging on the exploit side too so I hid it.
Don't know why the others hid their posts.

I hate Axes. I wish Toorum started with no skills selected and just 15 or so skillpoints to use as we please.
I too went for heavy armor and 5 spellcraft for light. Next up swords (or max armor for tankiness? that would make battles boring I think with low DPS).
Earth and Fire seem like complete wastes for me. Not enough energy to make spellcasting work (especially with one char party).
Also it makes no sense for a Ranger to have Fire, should be Air imo (invisbility suits him better too).
I love daggers too, but can't justify them ;p

I think (after overcoming level 6) that the reason for ranger to have fire is to stay compatible with the Book of Fire; it's requirement is in spellcraft and gives bonuses to fire skill you shouldn't be able to see/use if fire wasn't on the skill list. As an aside I found it to be a very good item for Toorum since that +10 resistance means I can get to +94 fire resistance with little preparation (a change of necklaces, the shield should already be on). That resistance means fireballs doing 2hp damage tops which is total ownage of ugguardians.
Interestingly I have found many items being "almost designed for Toorum". For example the first wand you can get in level 1 is almost just decoration for a standard mage in the party (doesn't add much) but critical for Toorum. As is the fact that spellcraft 5 is the limit for both light and items (blue orb - which is just a slight advantage over the wand but still, book of fire). Don't know if it's incidental or the result of a thought of the developers.
