Normal is easy ?

I'm not having a problem on hard, level 4 now. The first time you encounter groups of skeleton warriors it is quite hard, but a level or two deeper and they pose no threat. In fact, the difficulty has been perfect so far.

I just got to level 8 on a normal old school playthrough and I'm finding it surprisingly easy so far. Will be playing hard mode for my next playthrough.

I've not played on hard, but I'm getting the impression that hard isn't greatly more difficult than normal?

On normal I found the spiders a bit of a challenge and the slimes were punishing if you didn't move right.

On hard I found the slimes to be deadly unless I got lucky positioning them, and a bit of bad stepping against a group is death. Still scared to fight a lightning drake without a bomb or two.

I've only played hard mode. That said, I wouldn't judge normal's difficulty level until you've reached level 3 at least. That's the point at which the difficulty ramps up on hard mode. I bet even in normal you'll find yourself struggling to stay alive.

I hate those guys so very much! At first I thought "Oh, a tougher version of that raven thing.", then he slaughtered me with lightning in record time.
