List of things that appear weird to me in LoG2

Post by eLPuSHeR »

Hello.

LoG2 is a wonderful game, but it has got several "quirks" that annoy the hell out of me. I guess they are on purpose but it's puzzling. Maybe some issues could get changed in a later patch.

1. For a fire mage specialist Fireburst spell seem better than Fireball. Nice output damage and sometimes enemies will be set on fire and burn for a few rounds. For some odd reason, fireballed foes don't will be set on fire at all. And the output damage is somewhat in the meh range.

2. Cobras and other similar foes aren't inmune to poison. LOL.

Feel free to add more weird issues to this list.

3. Mosquito's swarm can only be destroyed by fire magic. Seems slightly unfair to me. It should be affected by electricity too.

4. When you complete the rogue wardrobe, there isn't any outline as when you do the archmage one.

Maybe I am being too picky...

5. Can anyone explain why Barbarian Minotaurs Resist cold starting value is -1 ? If you use a Tome of Water Resist cold will be 19 instead of 20.

Sorry, that's not true. They can be killed with anything. Melee, ranged, fire, lightning, ice, poison.

There is a reason for that "outline". Look closer ;)

Stats below 10 have negative effects on resists.

Thanks for clarifying things up Dr. Disaster.

3. Yes, they are killable by other means than fire, but fire is still the fastest route.
4. Yes. I have seem somewhere here that rogue's special set doesn't have any full set bonus.
5. Somehow I should have guessed that.

If Log 3 becomes reality. I hope they will foccus on "fair" magic more.

Kinda like On Final fantasy 3 ( Or the USA verion known as FF6, with Kepka the mad-man endboss and Terra the main story esper)

I really liked the magic system in that one;
- FIre would heal fire,
- Ice vs fire would do double damage,
- Fire vs ice would have little effect. Lighting is better vs ice.
- Lighting vs water does more damage and could stun then ( you know electrucuted )
- Using lifesteal/lifedrain weapons vs the undead would heal them instead and suck your own life.
- Posion would ofcourse have no effects and/or heal on most insects and spiders etc.
- A Magic element that would hurt all ( or almost all) No defense against it but for a price ( huge cooldown and mana) (( Ultima))
- Status like your partyMember could be a zombie, or petrified etc.
- Longer cooldown on crystals. I still find it cheap to not use food and just walk 10 sec to a crystal and return.
- Food emty = dead, being resurected gives 2% of total food bar. ( so you gotta feed him/her right away). I say this because I remember in DM: A party member dying because he had no food. Using the alter of VI had no use. Because he had 0% food haha.. so ye died instantly after resurecting the bones ( therefor a bit of food given in LoG when recurected)

And ofcourse;

- Gear and weapons, having a benefit and a penalty,
- Having fire resist equipment on, means you take more ice damage. ( counter of fire), Like having water resist on, then lighting hurts you more, etc
- Its adicting for a player to chose gear well before entering a section./elemental zone.
- Having a lighting blade on will not hurt lighting based creatures..or something like that, etc
- Things like that:)P

ahh.. it would be my kinda game for sure:)

already happens in LoG2 (well, it might not be exactly double, but it is greatly increased)
trancelistic wrote:- Using lifesteal/lifedrain weapons vs the undead would heal them instead and suck your own life.
already happens in LoG2 (you take damage instead of healing if you use drain life on undead, although it doesn't heal the undead)

holy shit dude take a biology class

already happens in LoG2 with the darkbolt spell

there's an option for this in LoG2

Thanks Minmay. I know most has it in LoG2.
Altho hitting uggardion or wyvern with a lighting or fire blade still hurts them.

Anyhows,
I've explained myself not so clearly. About zombie/petrified or even posion. I ment the status like petrified stays untill cured.

I've never seen a party member being a zombie though. Not even polymorfed ( Typo?). How to get polymorphed in that game anyhows?

There's a potion to do that.

Another one.

6. Rapier damage should be DEXterity based not STRength based. IMHO.

Hmm that's a tricky one.
The rapier is per definition a long slender two-edged sword mostly made for thrusts.
It requires quite some dexterity and training to use plus more strength then stabbing with a rather short dagger.
I'd be ok with both here.
