The Ruins of Norgard

Post by Dewalrus »

THE RUINS OF NORGARD, on Steam 5/4/2015, is a 14 - level Custom Dungeon adventure with a wide variety of indoor, outdoor, subterranean, and truly unusual locations. This is an old-style dungeon crawler, heavy on exploration, loot grabbing, and butt stomping with a few benign puzzles sprinkled in. Every level has its own theme and unique play mechanics, and this mod was meticulously tested, improved, and balanced over a period of months prior to release. It all works, it's all fun, and it all fits together into an enjoyable story. We hope you have fun with it -- let us know what you think. :)

Here is a non-Steam (OneDrive) link to the mod file:

https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=984FF836 ... 360C4B0138

Also, one feature I neglected to mention above is that this mod is largely nonlinear. The player has direct nonlinear access to five distinct levels from the starting hub. Beyond that, it is possible (but not easy!) to get quite deep into the game with no combat. There are very few true bottlenecks. This creates a sense of fairness and unrestricted exploration, as well as the opportunity to score some sweet gear that is above your party's level if you're brave and careful. Also, there is more than one way to deal with most situations, further expanding the player's sense of choice. It is even possible to skip large chunks of content if you want to, although it can be pretty tough to progress without the gear from those areas. :)

Another nice feature is the abundance of tomes and stat potions. For instance, there are enough Tomes of Wisdom to develop exceptionally strong builds, such as a Rogue with maxed out Missile and Light Weapon skills for deadly effectiveness in both ranged and melee from the back row. And there are sufficient elemental tomes to achieve very high Resistances by the time you reach the endgame.

Hope you have fun --

I'm not sure what's wrong with the OneDrive link. Will try to fix. Meantime, I am happy to email the .dat file to anyone who sends a request to lionsonsaturn@hotmail.com. On Steam Workshop it is at or near the top of the "newest" mods list.
