Who does the throwing?

Post by LastFootnote »

If you release an item in the upper half of the screen, it gets thrown forward. (It's a functionality I'm very glad was carried over from Dungeon Master.) My question is, which party member is doing the throwing? Is there any way to get my throwing-weapon specialist to take on this role?

Pretty sure it's done by whoever you picked the item from.

What if you just picked it up off the floor though? I've been wondering this too :)

That is a great question. I was kind of assuming that the top left character was throwing the item but that was only ever a gut feeling.

I'd love to know the actual answer.

Great question, in the original DM, you likely remember it was the highlighted character, of whom you could select. If any XP were to come of it, I imagine it is equally shared, but would like to know what the devs say.

The real questions to ask are:

1) Do stats affect the distance of throwing items this way?
2) Does the "thrower" get experience for doing so?

If "No" to both, then it doesn't matter who's throwing these items... ;)

I think it's prisoner 1, if I remember right, his hands go blackish for a second when you throw like that. If they don't, then that's a way to get an extra attack, or really fast attacks if you can shift pick up fast enough. Doesn't do much damage though.
