Spawning in Forgotten River Impedes

There seems to be a never ending amount of wyverns and air elementals patrolling here. Early in the game I was able to get over to the east side of the river and down to the Bog. Now I get penned in at the entrances both or get back to the spike puzzle where I have to do it over again to get by and by then I get hemmed in and can't get back to the Bog. I can handle them one at a time, hit and run, repeat. Getting old and sure makes it really hard to get around. Will I eventually kill them all?

There are two spawn triggers for the wyverns and air elementals in Forgotten River. One is in the Sewers in the exit to Desarune. The other one is in the Cemetery right past the large gate. If you avoid those two spots the number of elementals and wyverns won't increase.

That confirms my fears - at my party's level those are still tough and tedious battles and I am gradually eliminating them. When you say the big gate in the cemetery not sure which one you mean - I'd like to be able to get to the hub teleporter without tripping a respawn....again , and sorry to be a dummy but if you can be more specific on the one in the Ruins - not sure what area you are calling the sewers either. Thanks for the info and sorry to bother for more info.

The area I am calling the sewers is the same area that Grimrock 2 calls the sewers.
