lvl 4 beast garden

Ok I know I'm missing something stupid but I just can't get past the gate. I press the button and try to enter while the shock ball is flying but I'm to slow. Havent found anything to block the gate or receiving device to give me a longer time. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

Just in the moment you press the button go right to block the projectile.
