Probably could have done it more effectively. Definitely spent a TON of expendable resources. 3-4 res potions, 10+energy, a handful of lightning bombs, at least 6 fire bombs, a bunch of health pots, an emergency blue crystal, and even a few charges off the shield. I was shooting arrows without even looking, spin, forcecage, spin bane-special, weave back, fireball, level up! Meteor!!! AAAHH!H!!!!!
Don't care. I can't wait to do that again.

Awesome area. The combat in that area is just ... pure chaos. I got there after the fake ending so I knew how those giants could rip me. I wasn't scared of getting swarmed by the main mobs, I was terrified of being swarmed with one of those giants on my tail.

On my first playthrough (normal) it was one of the last areas I visited and I just used Meteor Hammer and Fire Sword to pretty much one/two hit most of the mummies there. After you clear out the mummies and Trickster, taking down the Magma Golems were pretty easy as they were extremely slow and clunky.
Don't think I used many Potions that fight either, just a couple of Transmutation Potions for fun.
Felt about the same on Hard, honestly. But I do agree it's one of my favorite areas. Wish there were more areas like that in the game. Reminds me of the Fighter's Challenge from the first game.
