Dark Souls is the ultimate exercise in video-game masochism; and I don't see how, in this case, keyboard and mouse could even help it out. You pretty much have to play offline intially as well, else people who stayed at level 1 the entire game will go around and slaughter you wholesale whilst you're still in your beggars clothes. At least you don't lose your humanity to PVP'ers any more, since the patch, but sheesh.

Still, it does have its moments. Clawing a win vs. a Boss after dying 14854632 times is such a relief. Dualing Black Knights is cool. The bosses are utterly hideous and truly terrifying. Accidently running off a cliff like a moron is priceless.

I still haven't finished it, mind you. I made a mistake whilst figting a Basilisk (which is utterly fatal, of course) and ragequit.

It's great Dark Souls is coming to PC but now I most likely won't get it. Why? Because it's going to use shitty Games for Windows Live

Live is horrible, the fact that it's coming to PC is great. The main problem for me buying it on PC as well would happen to be that I would only pick it up if I could reliably and easily play with my friends.

Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are definitely some of my favorite games released in the last few years, so when I heard that the PC release was officially confirmed and that it had extra content I was pretty excited, though I didn't like the part about GFWL, I really hope they decide to release it on steam or something.

Anyway, even though I have the ps3 version I'm almost certain I will get the PC version as well when it's released, though I think I'll stick with my ps3 controller instead of mouse+keyboard.

In terms of it being a good port, I wouldn't get my hopes up to much, it's a very quick job and probably on a rather limited budget.
Most of all I wouldn't get my hopes up at having good keybored+mouse controls. The controls where very much designed around the xbox and PS3 controllers, and it works well with them. Mostly I say this because I don't know how I would set it up, maybe that's just my limited imagination on this matter. Still, PC gamers demanded it and it's a superb game. If you ever needed a reason to get a controller for your PC, now is that time. I got one mostly for super meat boy but it's come in handy for a number of other games.

On a plus note it being on gfwl has not been decided yet, there is yet hope on that matter.
