Re: Legend of grimrock 2 GOD mode save game
I can modify character attributes through console in Legend of Grimrock II, give same effect.
However, at this moment, all characters are still vulnerable to injuries. I could not find how to reduce injury chances for characters, even though I know how to set/modify characters' attributes. Even if fire resistance is 100%, a character can be injured if hit by fireball or fire burst, even though, character's health is completely intact.
Authors could release more commands to allow me to modify character injury chance later.

Why should they waste time on that? What you're talking about is no better than using a trainer. If you want to ruin the game for yourself, fine, but don't expect the developer to help you do it.danielcg401 wrote:Authors could release more commands to allow me to modify character injury chance later.
Play the game as intended.
Re: Legend of grimrock 2 GOD mode save game
Mods can change the injury chance with PartyComponent.onReceiveCondition(). Injecting it into an existing game would be nontrivial, though.

There is only one workaround to injury chance.
SpoilerShow
Every time any characters get injured, you can type "party.party:heal()" to heal all characters and clear characters' injuries.

Re: Legend of grimrock 2 GOD mode save game
Who ever used this god mode save this month and the month before: == shame on you. You spoil a great game.
And as for the players who go check the internet for a puzzle:== shame on you really?.. yes you should be.
Edit: For the players who did spoil the puzzels on youtube and other media sites. SHame on you!!. Make the video then on a hidden post so no 1 can see it. But the date tells you, that you solved it before so all knows you was a good thinker and player ( put it later public?, but now hidden?)
As a side note, After 3 weeks being stuck I did searched for the archives puzzle. But from there I did all on my own.
Yeah, I kinda rule and failed. :/ sry

I don't know about anyone else, but this whole 'God Mode save file' thing smells fishy to me and I for one would be skeptical at best about it. How do we know it's not a virus or anything malicious like that? So far I haven't seen any posts from anyone stating that they found the file where indicated and checked it out... but in all honesty, I'm not sure I'd blindly believe anyone claiming it to be 'as advertised'. That being said, I also see no reason to need to download a file like this as you can just look up the console commands and do the same thing yourself without risking infecting your system with a suspicious file.
To the people that have started to post their nose snubbing about people posting spoilers, people can post all the solutions or videos they want online as early as they want. If you don't want to look at them, then don't look at them. Some people have a hard time with puzzles and just want to get the solution to one that they can't figure out on their own. Who are you to arbitrarily decide how long is 'acceptable' before those solutions are made available to anyone? A great many games are even sold bundled together with a 'strategy guide' that provides a section that is a complete walkthrough as well as other sections that tell you every little detail about everything you'll find in the game, from monster stats, to item attributes. These come out in the stores the same day the games are released. No one makes you buy them or look at them. In kind, no one makes you search for the spoilers.

This could happen in any Mod as well, theoretically. So while a valid concern (sorta) I am not sure why you are applying it only to a save game file.

umm, lol... arent you like the main person who makes judgement calls against how long it takes someone to solve a puzzle?
Here are some of your quotes about people taking too long to solve puzzles from my "Food vs Puzzles" thread:
"your issue is the same issue I've seen in some 'Let's Play' videos on Youtube... you are overthinking the puzzles and making them a lot harder than they have to be."
"So there isn't a need for excessive moving and trial and error if you just stop and think about the puzzle and don't try to include mechanics that aren't even hinted at"
"if you haven't found the clue for something you haven't looked in the right place or are simply overthinking the problem."
And my favorite:

They think that because it's a puzzle it has to be some complicated and convoluted solution, when in very nearly every case, it's completely the opposite. The best way to solve the puzzles is to think, 'What is the simplest way I could possibly meet the requirements of this clue?' Far more often than not that will be your solution. You think that is worthless advice? Fine, keep trying to make things more complicated than they have to be. I've already beaten the game and found everything, without having to resort to the spoilers you've already looked at because you didn't want your characters to go hungry, and I didn't spend hours upon hours wracking my brain on them either.

I agree with what you say here, but it sure is a 100% switch from your thoughts and judgements in the Food/Puzzle thread. If we take what you said here and applied it to the other topic, then suddenly you might be supporting my request. Aha, caught ya!
Regardless, I like that you pointed out how anyone can give themselves God Mode via the Console. That is definitely true, which makes it strange that people like Dr. Disaster came in to this thread and bashed the original poster for making a God Mode save game, when the only thing that save file does is provide a shortcut to using the Console. Hey at least we finally agree on something!
Re: Legend of grimrock 2 GOD mode save game
If it's an actual Grimrock mod or save file then it can't really do any damage since it won't have access to the filesystem or anything (unless there's a really massive security hole in Grimrock 2, which I strongly doubt). I think Anurias was talking about a trojan executable or zip bomb or whatnot disguised as a save file, not an actual save file that the game could load.Azel wrote:Anurias wrote:I don't know about anyone else, but this whole 'God Mode save file' thing smells fishy to me and I for one would be skeptical at best about it. Re: Legend of grimrock 2 GOD mode save game
Ah yes good point. There are safe ways to download these things, and of course one should only use the Grimrock game to launch/utilize the file, but certainly a valid concern. Although the original poster did say that the file is available to download via Usenet, which makes it much safer to acquire. There is no "clicking" on the file directly and accidentally running a piece of Malware. The Usenet client handles the download and you can scan the file directly to reveal a hidden executable. No different than using Torrents, which is safe if you take the proper steps and precautions.
