Sorry to necropost here folks, but after a few years of waiting to see if anyone was going to do this. I've actually started work on one. I have Entrance to Stonekeep and Ruins of Stonekeep (1st Level) mapped and functional. I don't suppose anyone would want to test it out and give me their thoughts?

It's still a work in progress but I'm getting there (slowly). I've got all the items (or approximations of them) included and I've got monsters standing in the right areas with the right loot drops (snails instead of ants and herders rather than shargas for now).

I've posted some pictures of the maps being created here: http://www.gog.com/forum/stonekeep/lege ... imrock_mod

For now I'm just interested in seeing if anyone wants to try out and give some feedback.

Cheers.

Yep, well it's still a work in progress as I say. There are a few items missing (the secrets mainly) and I'd like to try and find some different monsters that are closer to the Stonekeep ones, but it's getting there.

Ideally I'll also replace the scripted HUD text with sound (either from the original game or I'll get some people to record the dialogue). I haven't figured out animations yet, but I'll cross that bridge if/when people show interest.

Anyhoo, if you want to see what it is so far you can download it from: http://s207553761.websitehome.co.uk/Stonekeep.dat

It's also on the Steam Workshop now: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =340034639

Sweet, I was really hoping someone would get around to this. Looks great so far. Keep up the good work!
Working on a dungeon that displays a massive collection of assets while sorting them into convenient reusable plugin format (concept from some of leki's mods). Will contribute some of my own models as well eventually and follow that with custom dungeon.

Anyone here still around? I've been working on this with the LoG2 editor and am curious how far yall have gotten with your builds, assets, etc. At the very least, I think it would be cool to discuss.

Some are still around, but as near as any can tell the IP is effectively dead, for a seeming lack of interest from the developers. Very sad.:(

The game still works superbly though. :)

There is a Discord channel that seems more popular than the official forums.

Love that animation, BTW!

Hey Isaac,

Thank you for the Discord link. I am on the LoG Discord already (I know some are likely a little frustrated with me as I am learning all this.). But that is appreciated!

I've contacted Interplay and they don't currently have any plans that they've let me know of (seemed to not have anything based on my conversation with them), not that they require to let me know or anything, but I have had a lengthy meeting with one of the guys still employed by Interplay (and who was part of Stonekeep's development). They were interested enough to at least see where I was with it and my ideas, which was promising. I have a feeling that they are waiting to see what I come up with before taking this more seriously. Which, I don't blame them. Afterall, what can one person do by themself! (joking)

I did inform them of the license that Almost Human has on LoG mods. They informed that they will reach out to Almost Human. I've not heard anything back on that though.

So, at least there was some interest from Interplay's stance, enough to get a meeting.

I am still working on this, a little bit each day. Still learning on how all this works and what is required. Coming from a business programming background, gaming development is quite different. As for my progress since this past June:
  • I have a simple intro to the mod, nothing fancy. Will eventually replace it with a cinematic or built-in animations in-game once I get around to those.
  • Level 1 and 2 are complete with their maps, items, monsters, etc. (outside of NPCs and their animations, that is (I've run into several issues with controlling the monster brain, but I believe I'll get there.)).
  • Level 3 is almost done.
  • Some work on Level 4 and 5 done. Level 4 sewers are working properly with their draining, etc. Party movement sound is good to go, too (Both of these took a bit.).
  • Remastered five tracks from MIDI files. All of which are already part of the game.
  • Currently working on a music player that will manage the Stream to play for each level, etc. Sounds moot since you can select a track for each level, however something that I liked from the original game was that the level music did not run all the time. There was a delay until the track played again. I liked this. So, this is to place a delay between stream plays and select the proper track based on the party.level. Have most of it working. Condensing it now.
I am committed, even if it is only me working on this project. I want to see this done. Even if Interplay were to work on a remake and totally make all this moot, I'd be happy with that even with all this work being done. I might end up releasing something totally different with all this instead.

Overall, I am happy with the progress considering it all in scope.

I welcome you to check out the YT development video I've made recently:
