Some if not all of you probably already experienced tremors, but what does it mean?
Is it like in a rogue-type game where if you stay in a Level for too long something happens as a warning?
is there a limited time before grimrock explodes into a volcano or collapses?

Yea..its been freaking me out. Its like the whole place is going to cave in. Don't know why yet though.

I believe they're there to explain why some of the paths are blocked off by rocks and boulders.

I'm sure it will be explained later. Probably something to do with all the cogs and stuff you see in your dreams.
