DLC for LoG2
DLC for LoG2
LOG2 is amazing and I hope the developer considers expanding it with DLC later on, because I would hate to have to wait several more years for an entire new game just to get more good content.
Yes there are amateurs trying to make their own dungeons, but let's face it, some kid clicking around in the editor and hitting save does not a good dungeon make.
Ultimately, expanding this game has to be left to Almost Human, the *real* Dungeon Masters.

*Lol* ... you are aware that Log has a pretty vivid and big modding community? I guess these "amateurs" will convince you otherwise in this thread... *Bring out the pop-corn*mvdeckard wrote:LOG2 is amazing and I hope the developer considers expanding it with DLC later on, because I would hate to have to wait several more years for an entire new game just to get more good content.

No need to get defensive, its just an opinion. Yes, I tried many of them in LOG1 through steam workshop but none were really any good, even the top rated ones.badhabit wrote: *Lol* ... you are aware that Log has a pretty vivid and big modding community? All I'm asking for is official DLC.
Re: DLC for LoG2
Yeah, funny thing about that. Somehow people have trouble using a $0 budget to make a game with as much polish as the one that had 4 full-time developers for a year. Imagine that.

you then go on to say:Yes there are amateurs trying to make their own dungeons, but let's face it, some kid clicking around in the editor and hitting save does not a good dungeon make.

You straight up attacked the modding community. And you are asking someone to not get defensive. Some kid clicking around in the editor!! ??No need to get defensive, its just an opinion.
really?
First off there are some top notch brilliant people in the modding community. You definitely did not dig deep enough or spend much time in those forums to know that. In addition you also are quite stereotypical in your "kid" comment. Without being so illogical and harsh you simply could have just asked for official DLC.
To add to that there are game features born in the LoG1 modding community that actually made it into LoG2.
There are numerous dungeons that are both very intelligently made and inspire and innovate new things to be done in the future. I imagine some things will make it into LoG3 that LoG2 modders create. I have been seriously impressed by the minds and dedication of the modding community here. I have no idea what you are seeing but it is not based in reality at all.
I would suggest next time perhaps ask for official content or if there is going to be official content released and leave the completely irrelevant and disconnected comments that are baseless and simply negate any real logical or constructive dialog.

Heh - I get what you're asking for, but yeah - it could have been definitely asked in a different way - maybe leave out the "some kid clicking in the dungeon editor" portion. Because you pretty much lumped the modding community into this "kid just clicking" in the editor; and as others stated, there's some definite good stuff (I haven't tested LOG2 stuff yet; but LOG1 yes). So you can see why one might get defensive, when your initial post is pretty much putting down a modding community that spends a lot of time and effort making some creative dungeons.mvdeckard wrote:No need to get defensive, its just an opinion. Perhaps surf the forums here, rather than Steam Workshop and read comments in the custom dungeons and mods to see what people are enjoying, what's being actively worked on, etc.
To answer your post (not that I speak on behalf of AH), but I suspect they will take a small break, patch LOG2 here and there, and then, if it's in the cards (and I hope it is!), work on LOG3, rather than a DLC. When there's a strong modding community, there isn't much reason to have the company do DLC stuff when the community is pumping out stuff. They can focus on working on the next game.

Re: DLC for LoG2
AH has stated more than once that they have no interest in DLC.
Re: DLC for LoG2
Well, LoG2 is kind of like a DLC for LoG1. So basically, I'm sure LoG3 is coming at some point. And that's pretty much what you're asking for!

"some kid clicking in the dungeon editor"
now that made me REALLY laugh :DD

Re: DLC for LoG2
Custom content for games is usually quite a mixed bag, but there's usually gems to find. If AH made some DLC it would pretty much be guaranteed to be good. It can sometimes be tough to find the gems in all the custom content, and when you do they're usually pretty short as they're often made by a single person with limited time.
