Great game but not for me
Re: Great game but not for me
Yes you did. And I accept that.
However, that doesn't mean they cannot fix the combat system, the magic system and the loot system. Why is that such a huge problem for you? Do you like broken game systems?
Why do we have to continue to argue over pointless issues. The listed systems are broken, they need fixing. What is wrong with that? The puzzles will likely not be removed or affected at all. I do not understand why you are being so damn irritatingly argumentative. There are problems in the game that need addressing, that will have no effect on your puzzles.

I see no problem. There is nothing that needs fixing.
A bit more variety maybe, more of the improved AI but that's nothing the modding community won't be able to do as she did for LoG1.
Still want to see Leki's spider in action

Fine you don't see a problem. Then why are you continuing to argue with us?
Our problem with the game will likely have no effect on how you play the game. So why does it matter to you, what we say?

Re: Great game but not for me
Because you want the game to be something it isn't and was never ment to be.
There are tons of hack'n'slash and rogue-likes on the market but only a few dungeon crawlers that deserver being called that way.

Re: Great game but not for me
So you are saying you prefer a broken combat, magic, and loot system, over a properly working one. Am I correctly understanding you?

Actually i don't know what you want beside that you dislike the system behind LoG2. I don't see your problems with the game. It's fine as it is.
Re: Great game but not for me
I'm done arguing with you, troll.
I'm a mid-90s dungeon crawler and you are 80s dungeon crawler. We are clearly not going to see eye to eye, and I'm tired of trying to debate logically. If I continue I'm just going to start spewing hatred and malice over the internet. So I'm going to stop now before I say something I will regret.
Toodles!

It sounds to me like he just isn't a fan of this genre. he DID say 'great game but not for me'.
He might be more into something like Diablo or Skyrim or something. There's nothing wrong with those games, they're just different genres. Legend of Grimrock appears to have been meant to appeal to players who miss games like "Eye o the Beholder" and such. The oldschool dungeon crawler style. It's not for everyone.
Personally I found it extremely refreshing to get the opportunity to think in a game, but in an undustry drenched with relatively thoughtless games like Diablo, Assassin's Creed, CoD, etc.. I can see why the random consumer might not like it.
To each his own!

Re: Great game but not for me
You've already been told - not by me - that there were no dungeon crawlers at/past this time. By the games you refered to you are into classic and action RPG's, not dungeon crawlers.Palandus wrote:I'm a mid-90s dungeon crawler ..
You did not state what you call a broken combat/magic/loot system beside that you wanted an open ended (-> infinite?) character building/boosting system. Well as a pen'n'paper RPG player i can tell you that any RPG system that has not limits is poorly designed.
Bashing something is easy, but telling what you think is in need of change is obviously something you're either not able or not willing to do. I gave you the opportunity to reply since i don't see your problems so you could have pointed them out. Since you did not there is nothing to argue about.

Re: Great game but not for me
I am sure most of the people who are playing this game do not find the combat, magic, and loot systems "broken". I think your decision to agree to disagree and leave was a wise one since you were starting to throw around troll accusations (baselessly imo).Palandus wrote:So you are saying you prefer a broken combat, magic, and loot system, over a properly working one.
