Help "Meteorite"

I found a "Meteorite" in a chest on Sleet Island.
What is it for ?

to forge an epic heavy weapon. you need to put it on the forge on the bottom level of the crystal mine

Well depending on how far you are in the game, it is quite helpfull or not :

Down in the abyss of the crystal mine (3rd level down) there's a "froge of the star" altar : use the metorite on it and you'll get the Meteor Hammer (+ success unlocked) which is quite powerfull only if you have the skills to handle it.

I knew where to dig because I saw that on a Help Map

In several spots in the Twigroot Tunnels are shafts with big rocks hanging from chains.

Can I do anything with these?

At first they look like you can do something with them i.e. switching/balancing stuff but they are just static blockers.
