Locking yourself up in the burial chambers

Post by blob »

You can lock yourself up super easily by hitting the lever to close the bars right before entering any of the burial chambers. No way to ever get out then.

Yeah, I can confirm this too. It's not super easy to replicate though, you really have to move very quickly once hitting the switch.

Not only there, in Ruins of Desarune too. This game is not polished as LoG 1.

I wouldn't go as far, I see a great amount of polish in the game. Notably with the boss battles (its a ton of work for a high quality but very short event, many games avoid making those).
This game was probably a lot harder to test because the world is a lot larger.

I remember in LoG1 there d be an invisible wall as soon as the closing animation would start. Its probably an easy fix to make closing doors block earlier in their animation.

Um, you can lock yourself in rooms in exactly the same way in LoG1, in various places. In fact it's easier in LoG1 because the party's position changes at the end of the move instead of in the middle of it, so there's a longer window for pulling the lever/pressing the button/taking the weapon out of the alcove.

I support the ability to lock yourself in a room. A popup should say "You are locked in and will die in agony after cannibalizing the party and drinking your own pee."

OR have a monster come along and open the door!

Was it ? : O
In my memory, I remembered trying to pull levers and move as fast as I could and hitting a wall as soon as the porticulis started closing. Ah well.

Better than being stuck with nothing happening I'll admit.

Maybe they could have the next game be like Planescape Torment, where you had to kill yourself and reappear in the mortuary to get through some puzzles. Although come to think of it, how did they always find your body? ;)
