Don't know how flexible the spell system is, though.
OHHHHH NOOOO. That is bad news.

I'm gravedigging this thread with a bump, because I'm curious what the current status of takis76's project is.
The image he posted here reminds me of the original Prince of Persia game, PoP1.
(It uses chompers that are similar to the guillotine in the image.)
If it would somehow be possible for the player to jump over pits, the engine might be usable to recreate PoP1 in 3D.
I'll private message takis76 a link to my post, maybe he can give us an update.

Gravedigging Hehe!!!!!

My project is in progress, but I have some delay because I had one cryptowall virus in my computer and I lost lots of data. including some backups but I have my engine backed up in other hard disks. I lost a lot of game process but is not too serious to prevent me continue my developing. Eye of the Beholder IV is my gem and I will never abandon it and I will continue until finishes.
I just be alone I have a lots of things to do, I see and a receive a lots of ideas from the Legend of Grimrock series and I want to make it the best sequel and the best of all 2D game dungeon crawling engines. (Eye of the Beholder - Dungeon Master - Land of Lore1 - Dungeon Hack - DarkCrypt stile games).
I lost some code but this does not destroys the engine. I just went back of my development. I will improve my engine as much as I can. I have a lots of work to do. There is and website but is empty for now. When I put some reviews , articles and images you will see it.
Thank you very much for your interest of my game as I have said there are a lots of surprises. :)
