Limits on # of custom Race/Class??

This! All of the this! I have a couple ideas for custom races and I would need portraits. But I am a sucky artist, so...

I will definitely go image searching soon! I am sure we can procure some freely available portrait packs.

I am looking forward to seeing other peoples ideas, Ive drafted up 13 new races and 14 new classes on paper...

Really quite itching for more information on what will be possible... OH THE SUSPENSE!! hehe

13 races and 14 classes? Dayum. I only need about 5-6 races for my dungeon. Not even gonna touch classes. I think they're fine as is. For my dungeon at least.

If this is true I'm only going to allow gnomes and they can only be illusionists.

Hehe dont worry, I am very new to Grimrock modding (but I totally loved the first game too) but arent there plenty artists in this forum who would love to contribute to modding?
I mean, given how powerful the editor is and given the endless possibilities it shouldnt be hard for us to assist you guys as time permitts.

I for myself can provide a few things too and would gladly do more after my recent commissions are finished.


For example we could draw for you scripters / builders some custom portraits like

Necromancers Image
Rangers Male Image and Female Image or battle hardened Paladins Image

(Ignore the glowing eyes, they were ordered like this but I like them a bit more "lifelike")



or we can do you some Loading Screens with some dungeons

or the MAPS of these Dungeons:

and

or maybe custom items

or icons for these items and skills like Image or Image



Maybe you prefer it the classic way, so we handdraw it:

The last one is a 10 minute doodle but its surely creepy as hell, isnt it? Gnihihi ;-)

Does anyone of you know who the main artists are so maybe I can join them so we can start contributing some artwork to the modders efforts?

Hahaha! Man I just laughed :D :D thats golden!

Silly of me to not consider the creative contributions of artists like yourself!
I know for Grimrock 1, the "Creative Corner" was the subforum where you would likely find other artists contributing...
... I am sure something similar is or will be happening

Pretty sure I will have to go draft up a glowy-eyed Race to go with that ever cloaked Ranger Class :lol:
(Id really love to know why AH left Rangers out as a base Class come to think of it)

AND!!!! If we can model up and animate that scary cat... things will be shaping up pretty nicely! :D

Both are most certainly included :D
My draft up for each -

RACE: Gnome STR: -2 DEX: +2 VIT: -1 WIL: +3

SPECIAL: Resist All +5
Gain additional bonuses when reading tomes or casting from spell scrolls
Discovers hidden tomes and scrolls

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CLASS: Illusionist HP 30/5 Energy 60/7

SPECIAL: Can cast with hands
Immune to slow and petrify conditions
Cures party of various conditions when party is resting (based on Level)
Discovers illusionary walls and pathways.
Learns spells from the Psionic and Enchanter Schools
That combination will be 'discovering' a lot of cool stuff 8-)
All the race /class game effects are easy enough to script up,
just waiting for the guideline documents first.
