So did anyone else make a party of all fighters?

Post by jimicapone »

By accident, of course. Luckily I was half way through the second level, so I only spent about 2.5 hours playing. I did learn that all 4 characters need to be active in combat to receive xp. My 'wizard' was just holding torches until I saw his xp wasn't the same as the rest of the party.

I honestly am not going to mind restarting. What a fun game so far.

Thank you again !

I'm really glad I read a spoiler that only active party members gain exp, or my minotaur fighter and wizard would have been way behind on exp before I realized what was going on. I honestly wish Grimrock did even party sharing like Eye of the Beholder.

Yep, I did that. Got down to level 2 before I realised why my mage wasn't able to cast any spells

Gave my mage a Lance, now he can attack from the back-row gaining exp along with everyone else. Woot.

I think this was covered in the manual.

I did exactly the same thing - got as far as the second level and was thinking "why the hell can't I cast spells?"

I had just forgotten to click the "mage" button in the character generator. Ended up with three fighters and a rogue :P

I restarted though, and now have a proper team :D
Welcome back brave adventurers.
It is too bad you did not discover the true secret of the firestaff. Now that I have it I have no further need for you.
