Re: evasion
I definitely think it should be buffed to match protection so we can have more options for tank in game.
My first playthrough I went one heavy protection character and evasion heavy character.
Protection won out in survivability always.
I wish we could have some override config file to adjust these formulas in all games.

Re: evasion
I don't think evasion should be buffed. You simply got to have protection. Its the king. Evasion helps, and is pretty good in higher amounts. Evasion is way more effective on backliners who don't get hit much any way, than on front row tanks so I'd say it has its role.
EDIT: For example, my rear row Rogue wont skill Armor. Why? There's the Rogue armor that doesn't demand investing in Armor skill (gives +Dex and some protection with no penalties). Instead I'll raise Dodge to reach higher amounts of Evasion (Im also an Evasive Ratling)
EDIT #2: Maaaybe what should get *mildly* buffed is the Dodge skill (lets say it gives 4 pts instead of 3 per skill level). That would mean +20 evasion on a maxed tree. +15 is really nothing IMHO in the world of Evasion

Re: evasion
I think its okay the way it is.
A well rounded tank with 300hp, 90 protection 30 evasion is better than extremes in one direction.
Evasion is of great benefit when you get numbers up to 25-40. But afterwards it does not help much more.
Big HP pool without protection and evasion is not of great benefit.
And high protection or evasion number helps nothing without hp.
Magic resists are important, too.
You cant do an evasion tank like in LoG 1, there is no good evasion equipment to boost evasion to very good numbers (~90). Maximum pre Dex Potions is around 55.
In LoG 1 you had to build an evasion tank, because protection was bugged or by design worth nothing.

Re: evasion
Don't think so. Protection is imo superior to Evasion in both games (except that I agree evasion was easier to stack in LoG1) . I managed to get 80ish protection with an Insectoid Fighter in Log 1AngelFist wrote:In LoG 1 you had to build an evasion tank, because protection was bugged or by design worth nothing.

yeesh, I was using a mino and only managed to get my total strength up to 40, even with pots and everything to boost it.
how did you manage to get dex to 55?

Re: evasion
That is exactly why I believe it should be buffed. Or as stated a boost to the dodge skill. (3 per point is seriously too low.) Should be 5.You cant do an evasion tank like in LoG 1, there is no good evasion equipment to boost evasion to very good numbers (~90). Maximum pre Dex Potions is around 55.
As it is you have to do some pretty heavy tinkering to weight a character in extraordinarily high dex compared to high strength.
Added equipment could also work. The Rogue gear has 0 evasion (well 1 if you factor in the evasion you get from dex.)
Ultimately with evasion as is we have lost a path we had in LOG1 for a front line tank. Which is more limiting and it should be the inverse given the range of optional tree expansion for all classes.
The entire thing could be easily solved if we had the ability to mod more than world elements without heavy scripting and hacks.
I would also like to know how this feat is achieved pre pots? Rogue armor gives 1 dex (A full set is +5). IRC the max starting stat for dex is 17. The only stat I saw getting that high pre potion is strength with mino barbarian with skulls. I would like to know how to get 55 dex pre pot please.how did you manage to get dex to 55?
Re: evasion
yeah imo they should give evasion not protection , and be more alike the Stalker set from LoG1 i believe its called ?sapientCrow wrote: The Rogue gear has 0 evasion

I loved that set. It was the "Lurker" set
I had 80+ evasion or something in LOG1. I did not break 35 in LOG2 (perhaps maybe a little above it) and that is with maxed dodge.

The dodge skill is a little odd since it's +3 per level, but you can get a +5 trait. The other traits either match a skill increase, or are less (martial training) than their matching skill. Maybe +5 per dodge level ended up being too much, when you throw in the +10% speed.
Re: evasion
you can spawn in the lurker set, but it has only 5 evasion per piece, and 4 pieces so only 20 total bonus to evade.
also has NO other bonuses at all, so have zero protection for armor is wayyy too risky for only a 20 bonus to evade.
I tried it, and tossed it after the very first fight I tried it with.
