Game periodically freezes, black screens, then continues

Had no issues on Level 1, descended to level 2 and after a bit started to get a lagging issue. Game will stop responding like its frozen, then after ~10 seconds it will black screen for few seconds, then redraw and resume playing... This has been happening every 5-10 minutes.
I'm 1.5 hrs in, playing on Steam.

Windows 7, 64bit, Dual-core 3.2 Ghz, 8 GB ram
GeForce GTX 550 ti, Direct X 11, driver version 295.73

So far I'm loving the game, but this is getting annoying, and lethal if it happens during a fight...
Any suggestions

Having the same issue. Making it unplayable. Happens every 10-20 seconds. Its the video drivers crashing and restarting it self. I can post dxdiag or whatever is needed. Its really irritating.

Try to enable V-sync. The game doesn't have a proper fps limiter, so it'll tax the hell out of your graphics card when given the chance.
