evasion

Post by Ichthyic »

OK, I've had characters with as high as 27 evasion, never saw anything actually miss them.

even tried blinding a few enemies... doesn't seem to affect much.

either it's bugged, or it isn't anywhere close to a straight percentage, or else monsters all have accuracy boosts that overcome most evasion anyway (assuming evasion/accuracy counter each other like damage/protection).

anyone try a pure evade type character? does it work, or not?

I ended up going for protection instead of evasion, as it seemed more reliable.

Protection *is* more reliable than evasion and easier to stack. I wouldn't write off evasion completely though

the question is... why wouldn't you.

well, really, the question is, does evade actually work, and how can you tell.

I have a theory that evasion does work, but only when you have over 40+

Yes , as the game progresses, you'd need 50+ to get any noticeable effect I'm guessing

Indeed, Evasion is only reliable when its a high number, you might get lucky and low evasion might prevent you from taking 1 blow, but protection is always working, Evasion will probably be very effective at a very high level, still I am unsure if it is reliable enough to get a high number on it, since you would have to invest skill points into dodge and go for a lot of dodge gear and stuff.

Yes and 40-50+ evasion is hard to come by.
I want to look at formulas and calculations directly. Wish we had that option.

Evasion works.

A sandwarg needs around:

9 attacks (missing few) to kill a 220 hp evasion 0 charakter
15 attacks (missing some) to kill a 220 hp evasion 30 charakter
20 attacks (missing a lot) to kill a 220 hp evasion 60 charakter
40 attacks (missing even more) to kill a 220 hp evasion 100 charakter

Protection was 30 in all cases.

Do you feel like evasion should be buffed? perhaps a larger effect when at a lower level, or some way to not make evasion front liners immediately explode when touched?
