Farmer XP testing

Post by ZeroTolerance »

Hey guys I did some slight testing with a Human farmer (with the Fast learner trait) I tried all the foods and herder cap seems to be the most as it gives 301xp at level 1 other food were lower than this the lowest being the prickly fruit(cant remember name) at 201. warg meat and bread and the others were around the 250-290 range at level 1. after i did this I put on a spirit pendant and the herder cap gave 351 at level 1 so expect a signifigant increase. I only went to level 15 and from what I have read it seems to get a lot farther between levels after that. It took 110 herder caps to get to level 15. which in my opinion isnt bad at all considering herders den farming. the xp given goes up every level at a steady pace except for a few times where it jumps up exponentially.
Herder's Cap
Level 1 - 301xp
Level 2 - 434xp
Level 3 - 574xp
Level 4 - 721xp
Level 5 - 870xp
Level 6 - 1022xp
Level 7 - 1177xp
Level 8 - 1370xp
Level 9 - 1494xp
Level 10 - 1654xp
Level 11 - 2125xp
Level 12 - 2289xp
Level 13 - 3069xp
Level 14 - 3236xp
Level 15 - 3404xp
Level 16 - 3593xp
Level 17 - 3744xp
Level 18 - 3914xp
Level 19 - 4087xp
Level 20 - 4260xp
Now of course I realize that you are going to eat alot more than herder caps and that fish are a easy source of food. Silver Roach fresh from the good ole river of Nex gives 235 xp at level 1, so not the best but probably the most plentiful of the foods. Now remember this is all with the Human "Fast Learner" trait that gives +10% XP and that once you find the spirit mirror pendant that will jump up your leveling speed. I shall look into food after level 15 and post what I find.

Thanks
*edit - changed caps to level 15 from 117 to 110 had an extra 7 wrote down.

*edit - added levels 16-20 and wow does it go crazy after level 17. xp for level 19 is as much as 1-18 (500k)(1mil total) and took an additional 122 caps and level 20 doubles xp again to 1mil (2miltotal) So as far as farming food for farmer or grinding xp for anyone i would say level 17-18 is the max that it is worth it as above 19 gets crazy.

Wow, so the spirit mirror pendant works for the farmer? That's pretty awesome since you could presumably have it equipped on one of your other classes and then just swap out whenever you eat.

Whats more interesting for all classes is this xp table shows that even with farming for xp most people will probably end the game in their teens. That sharp curve past 16 makes me think that post teens are just made more and more impossible to reach.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

After being pointed out (I hadn't been in the Pyramid yet) Snake tails give 308xp at level 1 and the pie gives 440 at level 1. I don't know if the snakes respawn but I didn't receive a lot of tails from them. Herder caps still seem like the best bet. With the two Spirit pendants in the game you could have +25% xp for all of your characters. Two farmers and The other two wear the Spirit Pendants until the farmers eat. It is also nice to note that with the rise of the xp given per level that at level 10 you get more xp from eating a Herder Cap (on the farmer) than your other guys get from killing the fire giants in the desert.

Do you get more xp on your other guys if you have a farmer or 2 in your party? I don't really see any reason to have a farmer. They start with 2 less skill points so there is always a 2 level deficit and they only get 5 hp/mp per level. Do you actually get to farm at some point?

The Pie
SpoilerShow
The Pie is Located in the Pyramid.
If you had two farmers then your other two characters could use the 2 Spirit Pendants all the time except when your farmers are eating. The Farmer class is supposed to be a Challenge. It isnt supposed to be a better class than others. With the Farmer xp testing I have done they can make those two levels up cause they will be able to get 5 or so levels higher than your other characters just from the better xp per food than xp per mob. I rolled a new game with two farmers and two alchemists. Its harder in the beginning but my farmers are already level 4 and others are level 1 and I haven's killed the plant yet. Don's be daunted by the two skill point defecit as it will be made up fairly fast. And as far as the 5hp/5mp per level thats pretty close to everyone else except the barbarian.

Hmm, isn't something off with your maths ? Currently farming for a solo farmer, right now standing at level 17. Reaching 18 requires exactly 100k XP, so with 3.7kxp per Herder's Cap, it should only take about 27 to get the level, not 92. So according to the OP's chart, one cap should represent 3.744% of the required XP :)

edit to further contribute to the post :
18 to 19 also happens to require 100k xp, just as 17 to 18. With the Herder's Caps now granting 3914 xp each, it's a teeny bit quicker to level from 18 to 19 than it was from 17 to 18 ( 26 caps ).
