I think I've done something wrong.
I didn't think it was a good idea to specialize my Mage at level 1, so I put all 3 skill points into Spellcraft. Now I find I cannot cast any spells. Even worse, I've just noticed that because of this my Mage has gained only 50% of the experience my other characters have gained.
Will this problem go away when he eventually gets level 2? Is there some disclaimer that I missed warning that you MUST put all of your points into one of the 4 elemental skills at start if you want to be a spellcaster that can actually cast spells?

Re: Starting Mage
Equip a rock or throwing knife on your Mage and make sure he attacks at least once per monster. This should enable him/her to earn the full amount of experience points. Also, you will earn 4 skill points for each experience level you gain. So, you can still make your character build work but you will have to grind through to experience level 2 and then place some skill points in one of the elemental spheres (I recommend fireSecretSantana wrote:I think I've done something wrong.

Re: Starting Mage
I think the most basic spell ..fireburst takes 2 points in Fire. SO you are correct if you don't put any points in ..You will have no spells to begin the game.
Re: Starting Mage
My Mage was pretty mageless for the beginning. Once I leveled up I redeemed that though.
Now he's pretty much my heavy hitter. Fire works wonders to those skeletons. Too bad I haven't really found a monster reacting to poison all that much. Skeletons are imune, spiders and those Hoarders don't seem to fazed either.
