Willpower and Vitality bonuses not working !!!
Willpower and Vitality bonuses not working !!!
Hello
The game is Incredible, and I love playing it for hours on end.
Unfortunately there is one bug that is sort of a gamebreaker for me...
Specifically, the level up bonuses of Vitality (for health) and Willpower (for energy) are not working.
Please provide a hotfix for this as soon as possible, so we can build and progress our parties
Otherwise, outstanding work !!!

Re: Willpower and Vitality bonuses not working !!!
Can anyone else confirm this? Cause this sounds like it would be something so serious, it'd make the game unplayably hard, but I haven't really experienced that yet.. :/
Re: Willpower and Vitality bonuses not working !!!
I can confirm it at least, done some testing. Hope this will be fixed in the first update, as it gets more and more important the further we get into the game.

Actually, it's the descriptions that are at fault here. The attributes work as intended as far as health/energy points are concerned. We'll fix the descriptions for the next build but there's also a few small balance tweaks for the attributes coming up as well: willpower/vitality will now boost the regeneration rates of energy/health and we shuffled the resistances around a little so that each attribute will contribute towards one resistance.

Thanks antti for informing us regsrding this issue!
In my uninformed opinion that makes Vitality/Willpower much less desireable. I have all party members maxed out on vitality in my current build. Wonder what attribute(s) I will go for now in addition to the weaponrelated one.

Re: Willpower and Vitality bonuses not working !!!
With the system where the health/energy bonuses on level-ups were boosted by the vitality/willpower, the issue was that the later into the game you got, it got less meaningful to boost the vitality and willpower attributes. We feel that this system is more evenly balanced across the game and it's easier to comprehend and compare the merits of the different attributes.Cancle wrote:Thanks antti for informing us regsrding this issue!

Ah! So we did not miss something important during beta; good to know.antti wrote:Actually, it's the descriptions that are at fault here. The attributes work as intended as far as health/energy points are concerned. We'll fix the descriptions for the next build
Love that regen part. My mage will prolly sing praises to AH; 500+ mana takes real long to regen, even with all available regen buffs on. The resist part is also interesting.antti wrote:but there's also a few small balance tweaks for the attributes coming up as well: willpower/vitality will now boost the regeneration rates of energy/health and we shuffled the resistances around a little so that each attribute will contribute towards one resistance.
Re: Willpower and Vitality bonuses not working !!!
Interesting... more regen is always welcome. Thanks for the info.
I hope my chars won't be onehit later on though, as they are getting more than half of their health cut off by a single attack already sometimes, at max Vitality
Also, I don't remember how many HP were gained in LoG1 due to vitality, but I'd still appreciate a small bonus. I don't know if +1 for every point over 10 per level would be too much. May be... the Minotaur in my tests would gain +21 each level (+10 by class, +11 via 21 Vit), so he'd hit 465 Health at level 11 and full Athletics. On the other hand, a Human Wizard without Athletics and 15 Vit would be at just 140 Health at the same point, which isn't really that much. Instead, it will be just 90 as it is now. My LoG1 Mage had 120ish Health at level 13 with 14 Vit and no inreasing items at all by the end of the game, just for comparison. My front row chars were somewhere around 200ish, but they had absolutely no points spent on Vit or Athletics so they could have had way more with other stats and skills. If you'd take the Minotaur Barbarian again, with 14 Vit minimum and no Athletics, he'd have 120 Health at level 1, +14 each level makes 260 at level 11. A Human Warrior or Knight wouldn't have the +4 on Vit and just +7 per level by class and start at 60 Health. He'd just have 130 Health by reaching level 11 and 144 at level 13 where he'd be around 200ish in the first game. Basically I'd say the stats should indeed give some leveling bonuses, as it's now just the +5 for each point at the beginning... maybe just +1 per level for every two points above 10?
But don't forget I don't know which level we could get at in LoG2 and I don't know how hard later monsters hit either. So the whole balancing might be different to the first game. And as long as we don't run into dead ends, we'll have fun playing and beating the game. At least that's what I have while playing this great game no matter what.

Thank you so much. That puts me at ease, was worried I'd have to start over. hehantti wrote:Actually, it's the descriptions that are at fault here. Re: Willpower and Vitality bonuses not working !!!
This is a much clearer system.
Can you elaborate on the calculations that Vitality and Willpower will make? For instance, each point of Vitality above 10 adds 2% to the speed of regeneration?
If I could offer a suggestion- if Vitality and Willpower will impact regeneration rates, could that be shown in character's GUI? I could see also tying items to impact this rate, too (which would be cool). How about a standard, Ring of Health Regeneration +1?
