[Spoilers] The Four Plagues and Gluttony shrine

Post by Luj1 »

Finally managed to crack it the other night, so here it is incase anyone is wondering :D

Location - Twigroot Tunnels

Battle -
SpoilerShow
used the battleaxe, perhaps other weapons work too (shields don't)
Disease -
SpoilerShow
been the trickiest to figure out... requires a non-health , non-mana potion. So either potion of Speed or potion of Rage (I believe it should be Antidote/ disease potion but no drop)
Cold -
SpoilerShow
you use the necklace , believe its called Frostbite Amulet and gives +50 Cold resistance (most if not all players should have found it already
Famine -
SpoilerShow
any food (I used breadloaf)
Reward -
SpoilerShow
a really neat cloak for stealthy types + a flask that gives +1 to willpower permanently
Gluttony shrine is noticeably easier and it requires
SpoilerShow
minimum 3 random pieces of food
Have fun! :D

This one's a weird one.
SpoilerShow
Healing potion DID work for me on Disease, Cold worked with a plate armor chestplate, but not pants/leather pants/leather gauntlets. Supposedly other pieces of clothing/armor work as well?

Well that's weird ....

SpoilerShow
I can confirm Healing/Mana potions didn't work for me on 'Disease' ( I use a steam version of Grimrock ). I actually put at least 3 potions on the surface and the only one that worked for me was Speed (door closed when I removed it). About 'Cold' .. I haven't tried the armor because the necklace seemed like an obvious choice so nice find :D

Cool that you are posting answers to puzzles before some people even get to them and need help ;) I just wanted to add that many things must work for each, as the other guy mentioned cold steel plate works. For Disease I personally put a mushroom on their, the redcap one for making simple health potions, I figured fungus was like an infectious disease and it worked, seems the puzzles are less specific for the first game and go along with a lot of people's first instinct.

Couldn't find a complete walkthrough as the game is fairly recent so I thought I'd help (been crunching that one for two nights).

And yeah , the puzzles requiring items do seem less specific this time round :D Which is okay
