As for Turn based he can always play Might & Magic X Legacy. It has Problems though but still...it is turn based.

sounds like good advice.

sorry, but what made the old square-box rpgs great was that they were turn-based. Likewise, this game needs at LEAST the option for turn based combat.
Sorry, but no.
Get yourself trapped in a corner, it'll pretty much be what turn based combat is. You'll get slaughtered.

The need to think quickly and react is a huge part of what makes this game what it is.
There's already so many turn based RPGs, its nice to have something different.

When I saw the first boss, and that you could no longer just square dance to victory (and that there were actually challenging enemies in an open room) I was excited and saw it as a huge improvement over the first game.

I'm old, and I just don't click that fast. expect me to sit there and draw a spell while some monster is pounding on me? senseless.

I just don't get it. this format was DESIGNED for turn based combat. why oh why isn't it even an option?

sad. guess I'll return it and get my money back.
Oh, woe is me.
For a game this well made it's pretty offensive to just expect them to up-end the entire game design for you.
The difficulty level on normal for me has been absolutely perfect, combats can get frantic but are winnable with good play - they did a really great job on balancing.

ANYWAY:
Turn the difficulty to easy.

egads you punks are abusive. EOB, the game this was putatively originally based on was TURN BASED, m'kay?

besides, you wanna see someone who's really bad at playing this?

how about the only guy to do a video walkthrough so far...

http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2014/1 ... .htm#part1

how many games you think that guy plays? hundreds?

uh huh.

Eye of the Beholder wasn't turn-based, but real-time just like Grimrock. Same goes for Ishar, Lands of Lore, Dungeon Master, Deathwatch etc. Might & Magic had turn-based.

Just lower the difficulty and accept that not all games are tailored to you specifically.

What the hell is wrong with you guys? Insulting the guy and getting insanely mad over a fair question regarding turn-based combat? I can play the game in real time very easily, but I support the OPTION of example being able to turn turn-based on. I'm not saying it should be turn based only, that would be horrible. But being able to put it on/off at your convenience would be great, just like in the old M&M games.

Give the guy a break. What a poor community this is, behave yourselves.

So.
I go to the forums for a Starwars game, and say
"Sorry, but dragons are what make games great, and the least they could do is put an option to enable dragons. I just don't get it. Games with sword-type weapons were DESIGNED for dragon based combat. why oh why isn't it even an option?

sad. guess I'll return it and get my money back."
Would I come across as asking a fair question?
It was probably the wording.

Like I said, the square box design was used, and has been used on dozens of turn based games. it is what it was designed for.

maybe it just takes getting used to, but like I said in the beginning, it requires a lot of twitch I just don't have any more.

I am finding it more enjoyable on easy, but it doesn't change the fundamental issues I am having with it, really.
